MPD Reports: Juveniles on a golf cart driving around playing ‘ding-dong-ditching’ and other juvenile problems

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 5 – 11, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• EMS assist – Maple Lane – In reference to subject having a medical emergency. She was turned over to EMS and transported to Piedmont Walton.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Pavilion Pkwy – In reference to the complainant advising his ex-girlfriend was following him and harassing him. Contact was made with ex who advised that complainant had been doing the same thing and would take videos of her driving. Both parties were advised of remedies.
• Juvenile Problem – West Highland Avenue / Malcolm-Day Street – In reference to the complainant stating a group of juveniles was driving a golf cart around and “ding-dong ditching” residences in the area. The area was checked with negative contact.
• Gambling – Chestnut Cupboard – In reference to 200+ people gambling and drinking in the parking lot.
• Illegal parking – Stadium Lounge – In reference to a large crowd blocking the pumps and gathering in the parking lots.
• Locked Vehicle – Wells Fargo – Vehicle unlocked, no damage was observed.
• Juvenile Complaint – Tall Oaks W – In reference to juvenile raising a dinner plate at his mother in a threatening manner and stating that he was going to burn the house down. The on-call juvenile representative was contacted and juvenile was transported to RYDC. Warrants taken.
• Loud Music – Jax Apartments: In reference to a party in the pool, they were advised to turn the music off.
• Disturbing the Peace – Tanglewood Lane- In reference to a large block party disturbing the complainant. The crowd was dispersing upon our arrival. Everything okay.
• Locked Vehicle – W Spring St- Vehicle unlocked, no damage was observed.
• Juvenile Complaint – Birch Street – In reference to juvenile roughhousing with his younger brother. During the exchange, one pulled the other’s hair, and juvenile became upset, causing him to push his brother against a wall. The two were separated before officers arrived, and the younger brother went to his sister’s house. Contact was made with juvenile who agreed to stay in his room for the night and his mother was advised of remedies.
• Welfare Check – Hickory Dr – In reference to a welfare check on subject. Negative contact on location.
• Fight – Breedlove Drive; Ridgeview Institute – In reference to a patient on location fighting other patients, breaking items, and damaging property. Nurses called 911 to obtain assistance from law enforcement. After investigation, the patient was transported to Advantage Behavioral Health in Athens, Georgia, and an employee of Ridgeview was arrested for obstruction and reckless conduct. Report and warrants completed.
• Lost Property – Felker Street – In reference a subject losing her GA Driver’s License, Social Security Card, and Bank Card. Report taken.
• Vehicle Unlock – Robbie Lane – Vehicle unlocked without damage.
• Loud Music – East Church Street – In reference to caller stating there was loud music playing in the area. Negative Contact.
• 911 Hang-up – South Broad Street – In reference to a 911 hang-up call. No lot number given, entire area checked and all appeared ok.
• Loud Music – East Church Street – Area check conducted, negative contact with any loud music.
• Suspicious Person – Davis Street – In reference to an unknown subject in a vehicle in the driveway. The vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
• Dispute – Wheelhouse Lane – In reference to a verbal dispute between multiple subjects. One gathered his belongings and left the location on his own. Remedies advised.
• Dispute – Cook Place – In reference to complainant reporting her sister not leaving the residence when requested after staying for months. Civil remedies were advised.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138 / City Limits; In reference to a Toyota SUV driving recklessly in the area.
• Injured Deer – South Broad Street – Negative contact.
• Accident – W Spring St & Hwy 138 – Two vehicles were involved with no injuries reported on scene. The parties agreed to handle the accident civilly prior to officers’ arrival. No report was required.
• Domestic call – Plaza Trc. – In reference to complainant reporting her stepson’s unknown named friend possibly stealing her grill out of her yard while she was asleep. Report taken.
• Vehicle Lockout – Towler St – In reference to Ford Escape. Vehicle opened, no damage.
• Juvenile Complaint – East Church St / South Hammond Dr – In reference to an autistic juvenile on location. Situation was mediated.
• Dispute – Plaza Trace / Country Grove Apartments – In reference to previous call. Subject arrived on location wanting to talk to another subject about the grill which led to a verbal argument. Both parties were advised of civil remedies and parties were separated.
• Dispute – Reed Street – In reference to multiple females fighting on location. Negative contact.
• 911 Hang-up – N Broad Street – 911 call with static on the line. Contact made with staff and customers who advised everything was okay.
• Welfare Check – N Midland Ave – In reference to hearing noise in a vacant unit. Cleaning crew on location.
