MPD Reports: Officers advise mother they can’t force her son to go to bed; arrest for family violence; fraud and theft

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 17 – 23, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Juvenile Complaint – W Creek Cir – In reference to complainant stating her son would not go to bed. Complainant was advised that Law Enforcement cannot force her son to go to bed.
• Alarm – W Spring St; Marathon – Employee on location closing, all okay.
• Suspicious Person – W Spring St – Waffle House Monroe – In reference to subject on location causing a scene. Subject was trespassed from the WH for two years. Subject was picked up by his father.
• Fraud – W Spring St – Home Depot Monroe – In reference to complainant wishing to file a fraud report and to watch video of who was using the company card. Unable to identify the male subject. Report Taken.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Alcovy St – In reference to a suspicious vehicle parked across the street. The driver was taken into custody on Alcovy Street for criminal trespass.
• Alarm – Hwy 78- ongoing issue all okay Lockout – Felker St- unlocked, no damage
• Suspicious Vehicle – 3rd St- report of vehicle speeding, car is parked on 3rd st- no violations observed, spoke to owner advised to slow down when in the area
• Dispute – E Spring St.; Mr. Quick’s – In reference to a report of a female subject causing some kind of disturbance before leaving. The complainant was spoken with and stated he recognized the subject from previous encounters as a drug user. When asked what she had been doing that date, he could not articulate a clear answer. Another individual stated she had not caused any issue and left in a vehicle. No action taken.
• Warrant – Alcovy St -Subject was arrested for Violation of Probation, subject transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office Jail without incident.
• Accident – MLK Jr Blvd – @ 138- Driver 1 rear-ended Driver 2. No Injuries. Gears report completed.
• Theft Report – Felker St. – In reference to complainant reporting her bicycle stolen from her yard on 04/19/26. Ring doorbell footage of the incident was provided. However, complainant declined pursuing charges. Non-prosecution waiver completed.
• Unknown – GW Carver Dr & N Broad St – In reference to subject having a mental episode. Turned over to EMS.
• Damage to property – Aycock Ave-report made.
• Fraud – 140 Blaine Street – Call canceled prior to arrival.
• Welfare Check – Pavilion Pkwy:Publix: In reference to an older juvenile watching younger siblings in the running car. Contact made with the mother and she was advised of better solutions.
• 911 – Mill Stone Bluff- call cleared
• Warrant – Alcovy St – Subject was arrested for Violation of Probation, subject transported to WCSO Jail without incident
• Suspicious Person – E Marable & Union – (Under the bridge) – In reference to a suspicious male laying under the bridge, made contact with a subject who stated he was told he could stay here. I advised that he would need to move on and find a long term solution.
• Suspicious person – E Marable & N Broad – In reference to an elderly black woman waiving down passing traffic, getting frustrated about no one stopping. `
• Fraud – Fleeting Way – In reference to complainant wanting a report to document issues that arose while filing taxes. Her accountant had advised that it appeared her two children’s social security numbers were compromised. She advised that it appeared that the issue had been resolved, however a report was taken to document the incident.
• Other Law – E Marable St / Under the Bridge – In reference to a passerby, wanting the welfare of a homeless subject under the bridge checked. He was advised to leave the area. All ok.
• Transport – Johns Super Market – In reference to giving a courtesy ride to subject to Waffle House.
• Traffic Accident – Pavilion Place / N Broad St – Two vehicle accident, no injuries. GEARS report completed.
• 911 Hang-up – Meadow Ct – Accidental call all okay on location.
• Dispute – Stonecreek Bnd – In reference to complainant reporting her husband slapped her, attempted to slash her tires while she tried to leave. Hewas arrested for family violence charges and transported to WCSO. Report taken.
• Area Check – Downtown on Foot – All ok.
• Vehicle Accident – N Broad St – Two vehicles, no report of injuries. Report completed in GEARS.
• Agency Assist – Towler St – Upon arrival, the animal control unit advised all was ok.
• Suspicious Activity – W Spring St; Home Depot – Complainant stated her manager told her MPD was looking for someone earlier and she noticed a pair of old shoes and a blanket in the back near the woods. I advised her that MPD was not looking for anyone and the shoes appeared to be old and discarded.
• Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy (Old Navy) – Delivery truck on location dropping off merchandise. All okay.
• Suspicious Vehicle – MLK Jr Blvd; Tractor Supply Co – In reference to observing a Chevy, driving from the rear of the closed business; in an area not frequented by the general public. The back of the vehicle had what appeared to be new plants that are sold by Tractor Supply. Contact was made with the driver to establish what he was doing behind the business. He advised that the items were taken from the dumpster behind the business, which had been discarded as trash. His story was confirmed, as the dumpster had others like the one in his vehicle, and the fact that the items had been sprayed with paint to show it was trash. All was confirmed to be ok.
• Traffic Stop/DUI Arrest – N Broad St / Bold Springs Ave – In reference to stopping a named female subject in a Ford Explorer for driving on the wrong side of the roadway. She was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody, she was turned over to jail staff on copies of her citations for DUI and Driving on the wrong side of the road.
• Fraud – S Broad St; Chevron – In reference to complainant advising she received explicit AI photos of herself from an unknown number. Complainant advised that she deleted the chat with the person and blocked the number. Report taken.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78 EB / Unisia Dr – In reference to a Chevy pick-up driving recklessly, heading towards the city. Area checked with negative contact.
