MPD Reports: Parachute falls from sky without skydiver; complaints of parties and loud music; domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 10 – 16, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Burglary In Progress – East Washington – In reference to the complainant contacting emergency services stating subject was attempting to unlawfully enter the residence. Both individuals named in the incident have an extensive history with MPD, seemingly for being highly intoxicated and becoming disorderly. Units were yielded no response or the location of both individuals. All appeared ok.
• Loud Music – Windsor Dr – In reference to the complainant advising of loud music. Negative contact. Contact made on Royal Ct. and advised to lower music.
• Unknown Law – East Washington – In reference to a heavily intoxicated complainant dialing emergency services, stating a male was going to murder an unknown subject. Upon arrival complainant advised everything was okay and that she was disputing with subject until subject left the residence. All appeared ok.
• Suspicious Person – North Broad St, Sorrells St- In reference to Terrence Gamet walking into the roadway while intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported to Walton County Sheriffs Office without incident.
• Dispute – East Washington Street – In reference to complainant attempting to kick out subject from the listed residence. Before arrival, contact was made with subject on South Madison, who advised that she was headed home and stopped at complainant’s to urinate. Contact was then made with complainant, who advised the same account, but was upset subject had shown up. Both parties denied any physical confrontation. Remedies were advised for the situation.
• Loud Music – Tanglewood Dr – Parties advised to lower volume of music.
• Loud Music – Tanglewood Drive: In reference to neighboring residences reporting loud music coming from the listed area. Contact was made, and the party was advised to lower the volume.
• Dispute – Sorrells St – In reference to the complainant advising her ex-boyfriend was on location and was criminally trespassed. He was showing an active warrant through Athens-Clarke County and was taken into custody. He was transported to Striplings where he was turned over to Athens-Clarke County without incident.
• Loud Music – Tanglewood Dr – In reference to loud music. Party turned off music.
• Found Property – East Spring Street / BP Gas Station – In reference to the clerk at the listed establishment locating/reporting a license plate. Report taken, logged into evidence as found property.
• Dispute – Davis Street: In reference to two subjects, who were both heavily intoxicated and involved in a verbal dispute over how one was knocking on the door. Both parties agreed to leave each other alone for the time being until things could be mediated.
• Dispute – East Spring Street; Monroe Motor Inn – In reference to subject on location disputing with staff. The dispute was mediated and subject was provided with local resources from Faith Serving In Humanity (F.I.S.H.).
• Welfare Check – Hubbard Street – In reference to complainant requesting a welfare check on subject. Officers made contact with subject who advised all was okay. Subject was advised to contact complainant by telephone.
• Accident – S Broad Street / E Church Street – In reference to a two vehicle collision without injuries. GEARS report completed.
• Domestic Dispute – South Madison Avenue – In reference to a domestic dispute between subject and another named subject. After investigation, the named subject was taken into custody for Family Violence Criminal Trespass. He was transported to the Walton County Jail. Warrants taken.
• Found Property – N Madison Ave at E Marable St. – In reference to locating a loaded handgun in the middle of the street. The handgun was not reported stolen and was placed into evidence. Report taken.
• EMS Assist – East Fambrough Street – In reference to residents observing a parachute fall from the sky with no parachutists. Contact was made with Sky Dive Monroe who advised the parachute was unoccupied.
• Illegal Dumping – East 5th Street – In reference to the complainant advising subjects were on his property dumping trash. It was discovered that employees from Sky Dive Monroe were on location retrieving their lost parachute.
• Area Check – Tractor Supply Co. – In reference to a speed hump having a nail sticking up. The nail was removed without issue.
• EMS Assist – Eagles Trail – In reference to subject on location having a medical emergency. The scene was turned over to Walton County EMS and the Monroe Fire Department.
• Signal 37 – MLK JR BLVD / ATT: In reference to an open 911 line at the listed establishment. The establishment was unoccupied/locked, though the surrounding area/businesses were all OK.
• Business Alarm – W Spring St. Sake Express – In reference to a business alarm. Alarm on the front door was activated but the building was secure. Negative contact with the key holder.
