MPD Reports: Road rage report; mental health issues and a slew of successful warrant pickups

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 23 – 29 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into three parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Dispute call – S Broad St – In reference to subject getting into a verbal argument with her mother. Remedies were advised, parties were separated for the night.
• Unknown Law – Perry St – In reference to an anonymous complainant advising several subjects disputing in front of their residence. The area was checked and negative contact was made.
• Road Rage – Elm Dr – In reference to the complainant advising a Chevrolet passenger car was following her from Loganville, Ga and was following her vehicle too closely, almost clipping her vehicle. Complainant advised the Vehicle followed her from W Spring St to her residence where her husband was waiting. The vehicle then turned around and left the area. Complainant was unable to obtain the tag information from the video shown. The area was checked and negative contact was made with the vehicle. Report taken.
• Dispute – Lacy St. – In reference to subject allegedly striking complainant in the mouth during a dispute. Subject was gone when officers arrived. No markings were observed on complainant, who advised the two did not have a Family Violence relationship. Complainant did not wish to pursue charges. Remedies advised.
• Mechanical Breakdown – Glen Iris Dr – Vehicle removed from roadway.
• Vehicle Lockout – South Broad Street – Vehicle unlocked. No damage.
• Vehicle Lockout – Towler Street – Vehicle unlocked. No damage.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – Baker St.; Walton Village – Subject arrested arrested after attempting to flee a traffic stop for a stop sign violation.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – Hwy 78 / Marable St. – Subject was taken into custody for driving while license suspended and speeding.
• Damage to property – Roosevelt- In reference to complainants car being backed into, Incident happened in Rockdale County, Advised complainant to contact Rockdale for a report.
• Vehicle Breakdown – Hwy 138 & W Spring St. – In reference to a vehicle shutting off in the turning lane, Vehicle jumped off with no further issues
• Warrant Attempt – Windsor Dr – Female subject taken into custody for warrants out of Athens Clarke County.
• Loitering – E Church St; Chestnut Cupboard – In reference to a group of males outside Chestnut Cupboard asked to leave the property. All subjects agreed to leave without incident.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138 / HD Atha – In reference to a Chevy Traverse failing to maintain lane coming into the city limits. Contact was made with the vehicle on Hwy 78 Eb at N Broad St. All okay.
• Damage to Property – Carwood Dr – In reference to a white passenger car striking a road sign and then leaving the scene. City works notified.
• Vehicle Unlock – W Spring St – Subject was unable to provide proof of ownership of the vehicle. The subject was advised to retrieve the bill of sale before calling.
• Dispute – King St – In reference to juvenile shoving her mother and putting holes in her wall. Juvenile Complaint and Report completed
• Suicide Threats – Nowell St – In reference to subject making suicidal threats. Subject advised that she was not planning to take action but that she is going through a hard time. Subject was advised of actions she may take to make her situation more manageable.
• Burglary in Progress / Suspicious Persons – Atha St – Complainant advised that her neighbor called her stating that 3 males in black hoodies were breaking into her shed behind her home. Units arrived on scene and no one was located in the shed. Officers spoke to the neighbor who stated he saw 3 males in the backyard walking towards the shed. He then stated the males were last seen on Atha St walking towards Victory Dr. An area check was completed but the males were gone. Report completed for suspicious persons since no entry or attempted entry was witnessed.
• Civil Issue – Douglas St – In reference to complainant flagging down an officer stating he needed assistance with retrieving property from his girlfriend. Officers went to the residence where complainant was able to retrieve his cellphone and bag from subject. Parties separated. All okay.
• Dispute – W Spring St; McDonalds – In reference to a white female in a Sedan causing a disturbance in the drive thru. Subject was gone when officers arrived.
• Vehicle Lockout – E. Church St – Chestnut Cupboard – Vehicle unlocked no damage.
• Suspicious vehicle – Pavilion Pkwy; Planet Fitness – In reference to two subjects parked behind a closed business after hours. They were advised of loitering laws and sent on their way.
• Suspicious Person – Swanson Dr; W Spring – In reference to a male subject standing in the middle of Swanson Dr. The subject advised he was waiting for his Uber. He was sent on his way.
• Suspicious Vehicle – N Broad St; Da Grande – In reference to a Dodge Charger parked behind the building. The vehicle was unoccupied.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – Ridge Rd / West Walton Villas – In reference to a Chevy Malibu being stopped for a traffic violation and the registered owner showing a Warrant. The vehicle pulled into the West Walton Villas where the driver was able to contact the registered owner and have her walk to the scene. The registered owner was then taken into custody for a Failure to Appear warrant out of Winder PD. The subject was turned over to Winder PD at Windstream on Hwy 11.
• Vehicle wreck – N. Broad & E Marable- accident involving two vehicles, no report of injury.
• Traffic Stop / Arrest – Sherwin Williams – Vehicle was stopped due to a passenger not wearing a seatbelt. The driver was taken into custody for driving while license suspended, cited, and released.
• Welfare check – Mill Stone Bluff – In reference to checking the welfare of a female. Negative contact.
• Traffic Stop – Hwy 11 – Vehicle stopped for equipment violation. The driver was found to have a suspended Driver’s License for Failure to Appear. He was placed under arrest, fingerprinted, and released on a copy of the citation.
• Theft Report – Alcovy St. – In reference to complainant reporting that her former roommate(s) in Marietta had accessed her phone and banking information and had stolen her identity, sometime in September or October. Complainant also advised she may have been assaulted at a Days Inn in Marietta. She was advised to contact Marietta PD.
• Wanted Person – Alcovy St – In reference to a named subject on location with an active warrant. The subject left the scene but was later taken into custody by Barrow County.
• Vehicle Inspection – Vine St. – Vehicle not stolen per NCIC. Form T22-B completed.
• Dispute – Nowell St – In reference to a dispute between a mother and daughter. Situation mediated.
• Motorist Assist – Michael Etchison & 138- In reference to a vehicle breaking down in roadway, Assisted with traffic, Complainant had Taylor’s in route.
• Shoplifting – E Spring St. – BP – In reference to an unknown white male shoplifting three packages of Kratom and leaving in a white GMC pickup with no Tag. Suspect was identified and merchandise was recovered. Subject was Criminally Trespassed from location.
• Alarm – E Spring St. – Doors and windows were secure. All appeared okay.
• Theft Report – S Broad St.; Willfully Guided – In reference to stolen merchandise. The complainant was able to obtain video footage of incident. Report Taken.
• Welfare Check – Sorrells St / Booth Dr – Caller advised two subjects outside, possibly homeless, no contact with subjects in the area. Caller later advised they were just waiting for a ride.
• Warrant Service – Stonecreek Way – In reference to locating a females subject on location who had a valid warrant out of Barrow County Sheriff’s Office for Felony Theft by taking. She was taken into custody and turned over to a Barrow County Deputy at Windstream on Hwy 11.
• Missing Person – Georgia Ave; WCSO – In reference to complainant wishing to report his wife and his newborn daughter missing. Complainant was escorted out of Piedmont Walton by security staff earlier this date due to wife being placed on a 10-13 order. Wife was still at Piedmont Walton with her newborn daughter awaiting transport to a mental health facility.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Mcdaniel St – In reference to complainant reporting a Black Ford F150 parked at the McDaniel Tichenor house in front of her bedroom window. Area checked negative contact with vehicle.
• Dispute – E Church St – Call cancelled by dispatch as the complainant is in a nursing home and confused.
