MPD Reports: Scam; theft and slew of domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 17 – 23, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Vehicle Unlock – Bridgeport Lane – In reference to a Ford Explorer. Vehicle opened, no damage.
• Theft report – Thompson Ridge Drive – In reference to the complainant reporting her air pod stolen from McDonalds while she was working last night. Report taken.
• Alarm – S Broad St – SEC Self Secure Storage. Everything appeared secured and ok.
• Funeral Escort – Alcovy Street at Criswell Road – In reference to assisting the Walton County Sheriff’s Office with a funeral escort. All okay.
• 911 Hang Up – Woodland Road – In reference to a 911 hang-up at this residence, contact was made with the homeowner, who advised that everything was okay.
• Suspicious person – Unisia Dr. – In reference to a male fishing, Negative contact was made.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – Ridge Road – Vehicle stopped due to registered owner having an active warrant out of Winder PD for FTA. The subject was arrested and taken to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Jail without incident.
• Child Custody – Heritage Ridge Drive; In reference to the complainant wishing to report interference with child custody. Report taken.
• Roadway Obstruction – Hwy 138/ MLK Jr Blvd – In reference to an obstruction in the roadway. Negative Contact.
• Residential Alarm – Dogwood Trail – In reference to interior motion, all appeared to be secure on location.
• Alarm – Holly Hill Road – All doors and windows appeared secure.
• Scam – Classic Trail – In reference to the complainant being contacted by a scam contest. Complainant did not provide any personal information. All OK.
• Fire Assist – Bank of America- In reference to a brush fire in front of the business.
• Traffic Stop / Arrest – Hwy 138 / W Spring St. – Vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation. The driver, The subject was taken into custody for driving while license suspended, seatbelt violation and outstanding warrants out of Jackson County
• Alarm – Hwy 78- All was okay
• Dispute – Aycock Ave – In reference to complainant stating that her and her boyfriend had an argument. He left before the verbal argument escalated further. No crime was alleged to have occurred. Remedies advised.
• Vehicle Unlock – Martin Luther King Jr Blvd – In reference to keys locked in a vehicle. Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Vehicle Crash – Hwy 138 at Michael Etchison – Two vehicle accident with no injuries. GEARs completed.
• Follow Up – S Broad St. – In reference to a previous MPD Case. Complainant wished to report that she had not been truthful with Officers on 04/14 and that she had actually been choked by the subject. She advised that a neighbor had witnessed this. The neighbor was spoken with and advised she had not. With no evidence to substantiate her claims, The TPO and pre-warrant application processes were explained to complainant.
• Dispute – Ridge Rd -In reference to a verbal dispute between two subjects. One was gone when officers arrived and the other advised she no longer needed LE assistance.
• Dispute – W Spring St – In reference to a verbal dispute between patient and Piedmont Walton.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138 and Michael Etchison Rd: In reference to a white box truck failing to maintain lane. Negative contact.
• Vehicle Unlock – Pavilion Pkwy – Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
• Dispute – Meadow Walk Dr. – In reference to a verbal dispute between two subjects
• Dispute – W Spring St – Piedmont Walton- In reference to subject refusing to leave the property after she was discharged. She was given a courtesy ride to Monroe Motor Inn and put up in a room for the night.
• Accident w/Officer – S Madison Ave & E. Washington- Accident with patrol unit and passenger car. No report of injuries worked by Ga State Patrol.
• Other Law – Bold Springs Ave / N Broad St.- In reference to the caller thinking her vehicle was struck by another vehicle. No damage observed.
• Dispute – Towler St – In reference to complainant stating her boyfriend came into her house, woke her up, and took her car keys. The vehicle came back as being registered to him. Complainant was advised of remedies.
• Accident – W Spring St / Quality Foods – Two vehicle crash, with complaint of injury. GEARS report.
• Vehicle Unlock – W Spring St – Vehicle unlocked no damage.
• Damage to Property – Aycock Ave – In reference to complainant advising his vehicle was keyed. Report taken.
• Area Check – Downtown on Foot – All ok.
• Accident – MLK Jr Blvd; Zaxby’s – Two vehicle accident without injuries, GEARs report completed.
