MPD Reports: Slew of domestic disputes including between offspring and parent / grandparent

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 8 – 15, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Domestic Dispute – Highland Creek Drive – In reference to a verbal dispute between husband and wife over living arrangements. Parties were advised of the civil process and to separate.
• Vehicle Unlock – South Broad St / Chevron – Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Follow Up – Highland Creek Drive – In reference to a husband and wife continuing to dispute from earlier this date. Both parties were re-advised of the civil process and instructed to separate.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Bolton Street / E Reese Street – In reference to a vehicle being parked in the roadway without a tag. Contact made with the owner who advised they would get it moved.
• Vehicle Lockout – Hwy 83 / Tucker Door – Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Martin Luther King Jr Blvd / W Spring Street – Negative contact with vehicle that was failing to maintain lane.
• Suspicious Person – Alcovy Street – In reference to a possible homeless person on location. Area was checked on foot. Negative Contact.
• Business Alarm – McDaniel Tichenor House. All appeared secured on location.
• Stranded Motorist – E Spring Street / N Broad Street – In reference to a vehicle broken down in the roadway. Taylor’s Wrecker Service responded and removed the vehicle per owner’s request.
• Dispute – East Marable St/Hot Spot – In reference to a dispute between cashier and a customer of amount of money tendered. Incident documented.
• Dispute – E Spring Street; Mr.Quicks – In reference to an earlier dispute between two subjects. Parties were advised remedies.
• Agency Assist – Hwy 78 / Unisia; In reference to assisting Walton County Sheriff’s Office with a funeral escort.
• Suicide Threat – East Marable St / East Marable Manor – In reference to subject claiming that she was not feeling well physically and mentally. Turned over to EMS.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Cedar Ridge Rd / Hwy 78 West – In reference to two males getting their vehicles stuck in mud on the shoulder. Ongoing issue with subjects playing in the mud damaging city utilities. Citations issued by WCSO and the vehicle was impounded by Taylor’s.
• Harassment – S Madison Ave – In reference to complainant reporting a former church member for harassment after being contacted numerous times. Report taken.
• Dispute – W Spring Street; Walmart – In reference to a third party caller of a dispute between a male and female. After investigation, all was okay.A
• rea Check – East Marable St – In reference to the complainant possibly seeing the suspect vehicle from a previous hit and run. Area checked.
• Vehicle Unlock – Unisia Drive – In reference to a Honda Accord. Vehicle opened, no damage.
• Shoplifting – Pavilion Parkway; Ross – In reference to an unknown female stealing a costumers ULTA bag containing $175.00 worth of merchandise from the shopping cart. Report taken.
• Suspicious Person – Pine Park Street / Mill Street – In reference to complainant flagging me down, reporting that her son was unable to be located where he should’ve been. Minutes after the search began, complainant notified dispatch that her child was located.
• Drugs – East Spring / Dairy Queen: In reference to customers reporting the strong odor of marijuana emitting from a vehicle on location. The area was checked with negative contact.
• Suspicious Person – S Broad St – Southside – In reference to two juveniles knocking on the complainant’s door and asking for an unknown male and attempting to purchase narcotics. The complainant was not on location. The juveniles were gone when officers arrived.
• Juvenile Complaint – W Washington St – In reference to juveniles on location fighting and throwing rocks. Contact was made with the juveniles who stated that no physical altercation occurred.
• Traffic Crash – Reed St and Reed Way- Two vehicle crash with no injuries. Report in GEARS.
• Traffic Crash – N Broad St at Nowell St- Two vehicle crash with no injuries. Report in GEARS.
• Private Property Crash – W Spring St; McDonald’s- Two vehicle private property crash with no injuries. Report in GEARS.
• Transport – W Spring St. Piedmont Walton – In reference to transporting subject from Piedmont Walton Hospital to Plaza Dr. She was transported without issue.
• Suspicious Persons – South Madison Avenue / Felker Park – In reference to subjects at the park after hours. The group was advised of the park rules/loitering laws and sent on their way.
• Business Alarm – East Highland Avenue – In reference to an activated business alarm. All appeared okay on location.
• Warrant Service – Claywill Circle- In reference to a named subject on location with an active arrest warrant. After a brief struggle he was taken into custody. Once he was cleared by EMS he was transported to the WCSO without incident.
• Dispute – East Fambrough Street – In reference to complainant reporting her “baby-daddy,” had battered her and fled the scene. He was unable to be located, though warrants were taken for FV Battery x 2.
• Juvenile Complaint – Monroe Town Green – In reference to the complainant advising of multiple juveniles fighting in the roadway. Negative contact was made.
• Suicidal Ideations – W Spring St. Marathon – In reference to subject having suicidal ideations. Subject was transported to Advantage in Athens without issue.
• Dispute – Tall Oaks W – In reference to the complainant advising him and his mother were involved in a verbal altercation. Complainant advised Officers that his mother was intoxicated and started the argument over subject accusing him of not doing what he was supposed to do. No physical altercation occurred, and remedies were advised, and both parties agreed to separate for the remainder of the night.
• Dispute – East Church Street – In reference to two subjects being involved in a domestic dispute. Insufficient probable cause to charge either party. Report taken.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Spring St. @ Broad St – In reference to a vehicle operating with no lights. A traffic stop was conducted. Driver advised of relevant traffic laws.
• Civil Issue – Landers Street – In reference to complainant reporting that an ex-roommate has been breaking into his residence and sleeping in a broken-down vehicle in the backyard. Ex-roommate was gone when officers arrived and unable to be located. Report taken, and remedies were advised.
• EMS Assist – Plaza Trace- In reference to an elderly female getting stuck in her recliner chair and unable to come to the door. Entry was made by MFD. Everything okay.
• Suspicious Vehicle – S Broad Street / Court Street – In reference to a vehicle needed to be moved for a market. The vehicle moved prior to arrival.
• Domestic – Towler Street – In reference to a named subject acting irate and causing damage to his mother’s residence. He was placed under arrest for criminal trespass (FVA) and transported to Advantage in lieu of charges. Report taken.
• Theft Report – Tall Oaks West – In reference to a theft report of a $20 direct deposit card. The card was later located. NRN.
• Suspicious Person – Bold Springs Ave / North Midland Ave – In reference to subject cutting through businesses walking home. All okay.
• Dispute – Pine Park Street – In reference to complainant reporting her grandson threatening her by phone and then arrived at her residence. He was gone when officers arrived. Complainant was advised of the TPO process.
• Dispute – Tall Oaks East – In reference to complainant reporting her neighbor outside yelling and acting strange. Officers attempted to check the welfare of the neighbor but he was unwilling to come to the door due to being afraid of law enforcement. Negative Contact.
• Area Check – Ridge Rd / Skyline Trace – In reference to an anonymous complainant reporting hearing screaming in the area. Contact was made with apartment residents on location who advised they had not heard any disturbance in the area. All okay.
• Follow Up – Tall Oaks East – In reference to subject from previous call inquiring about police at his door. The subject advised he was dealing with ongoing mental health but was otherwise ok.
• Other Law – East Spring Street – Taylor’s Wrecker Service – In reference to a vehicle needing to be released that was towed by the Monroe Police Department last date. The vehicle and owner information were checked, and the vehicle impound form was completed appropriately
• Illegal Parking – North Broad St / Franks Valero – In reference to a Semi Truck and trailer parked on location blocking the driveway. Owner advised of remedies.
• Alarm – E Spring St; Our Family Health – All windows and doors secured, all appeared ok.
• Roadway Obstruction – Highway 78 Eastbound at Highway 138 – In reference to an office chair in the middle of the roadway. Negative contact.
• Civil Issue – Highland Creek Drive – In reference to a named subject seeking information regarding property retrieval. He was advised of civil remedies.
• Accident – Pavilion Pkwy; Publix- Two vehicle private property crash. No injuries. Report in GEARS.
