MPD Reports: Suicide; suspected child molestation; failure to register as a sex offender and domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 17 – 23, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Mechanical Breakdown – Alcovy Street/South Broad – Vehicle removed from roadway.
• Accident – E Church St- Private property, report only agreed to handle civilly
• Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy – Pavilion Primary Care – Employee on location, all okay.
• Warrant Attempt – Sorrells Street – Female subject taken into custody for probation violation warrant.
• Unknown Law – Sorrells St – In reference to subject on location trying to report that a female pulled a gun on him. While on scene, subject’s Aunt arrived on scene to take him back to Alabama. All Ok.
• Hit and run – Home Depot- In reference to an unknown vehicle striking the complainant vehicle. Report taken.
• Dispute – South Broad Street – In reference to the complainant’s vehicle showing as a scrapped vehicle. Remedies were advised. Report taken.
• Dispute – Carwood Dr- Civil dispute over property between two subjects. Situation mediated.
• Found Property – Towler Street – In reference to a frame of a 9mm pistol being located in the woods by a surveying company. The frame was turned into evidence.
• Alarm – Belle Meade – Residence cleared. All ok.

• Suicide Threats – Hwy 138 – Upon arrival EMS advised Police were not needed.
• Found Property – 140 Blaine Street – Complainant located a green case in the roadway on S Hammond. Shotgun was inside the case taken for safe keeping and placed into evidence. Entered on GCIC by Dispatch
• Found Property – Parkway Place – In reference to a found debit card. The card was returned to the owner.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Charlotte Rowell Blvd HWY 78 – In reference to an elderly male who got lost on Hwy 78. Male was given directions.
• Mechanical Breakdown – Hwy 78/Hwy 138 – Vehicle off roadway and already had assistance prior to officer arrival.
• Harassment – Aycock Ave -In reference to complainant calling about her daughter allegedly making attempts to ruin her business. Report taken.
• Juvenile Complaint – Overlook Crest – In reference to a juvenile running away from home. Returned to parents without incident.
• Agency Assist – 4th St – In reference to assisting Walton County Sheriff’s Office in locating a runaway juvenile, the juvenile was located and turned over to parent.
• Vehicle unlock – Landers St – Vehicle unlocked no damage.
• Suspicious Person – Atha St; Victory Dr – In reference to a 5-year-old female walking by herself on Atha St. The juvenile was escorted back to her residence without issue.
• Sexual Assault – Tall Oaks E – In reference to the complainant reporting that his 10-year-old daughter, is being assaulted by mother’s boyfriend who is a registered sex offender. CID notified, welfare conducted at the residence. Report taken.
• Welfare Check – W. Spring St / Bankers Blvd-Welfare check on a juvenile running near the road, contact was made with a group of juveniles who advised they were walking home. All was
 okay.
• Loud Music – Pine Park St / Davis St – Subjects playing loud music in the area, they were advised to keep the noise down.
• Alarm – S Broad St; Secure Storage – open door found on location. Business cleared by officers Loud Music – Sorrells St – Subjects advised to keep music turned down.
• Area Check – S Broad St – Subject called due to seeing people cutting through his yard on his cameras, the area was checked with no subjects in the area.
• Area Check/Wanted Subjects – N Broad St; Waffle House – In reference to named male and female subjects camping on location in the woods. Both were found to have active warrants. The was arrested and turned over to Walton Co jail for an active warrant out of Clarke Co. for failing to register as a sex offender. The warrant for the femalewas out of Jackson Co, however was not confirmed. She was released and advised to make contact with Jackson Co to handle the active warrant. Reports taken.
• Suspicious Vehicle) Hwy 138 / City Limits – In reference to a semi-truck driving erratically, vehicle was stopped on Hwy 78. All appeared okay.
• Dispute – Tall Oaks W – In reference to a dispute between sisters who reside on location. The situation was mediated, and parties were separated for the night.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Pavilion Pkwy; Publix – In reference to a female sleeping in her car in the parking lot. All okay
• 911 Hang-Up – Sorrells St – In reference to an open line. Contact was made with the owner all okay on location.
• Alarm – MLK Jr Blvd; Freddie’s Barbershop – Alarm activation at the location, the front door was secured however the back door was unsecured and open. The business was cleared without contact.
• Dispute – Booth Drive – Verbal dispute between compliant and ex-girlfriend. Remedies advised.
• Suicide – In reference to a 17-year-old female who committed suicide. Report taken and turned over to CID and Coroner.
• Accident – W Spring St- Private Property accident, no report of injury only damage to vehicle. See Gears report
• Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy- cleaning crew on location, all okay
• Vehicle Unlock – W Spring St. – Vehicle unlocked without damage.
• 911 Hang up – Roberts St- Fire call, turned over to Fire
• Vehicle Accident – E Spring St & S Madison Ave- 2 vehicle accident with no injuries. GEARS report completed.
• Vehicle Lockout – Unisia Drive – Vehicle unlocked. No damage.
• Assault – West Spring Street – In reference to a female subject stated she was assaulted by her son on Harris Street. During the investigation there was no evidence to sustain her claims. No charges taken.
• Juvenile Complaint – Pavilion Pkwy; Marshall’s – In reference to four juveniles on location selling candy to passersby. The juveniles in question had been warned several times previously regarding the same issue. The juveniles were issued citations for loitering and transported home.
• Intoxicated Person – N Broad St. – In reference to subject on location, heavily intoxicated and argumentative with staff. Contact was made with subject at Tacos-N-Beer where staff also asked that he leave. He was provided a ride home.
• Traffic Stop – Pine Park St – Named subject arrested for Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of Marijuana and Theft by Receiving following a traffic stop.
• Dispute – W Spring St.; Walmart – In reference to complainant stating a fellow employee/ex- boyfriend was harassing her by playing vulgar music. He was spoken with and advised he had not intentionally harassed her, but would stay away from her in the future.
