MPD Reports: Suicide threats / attempts; Walton EMS assists; habitual DUI offender arrested after driving into tree

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 22 – 28, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Suspicious Person – W Spring Street; McDonald’s – In reference to a white male acting strange and running in and out of the store while leaving his child in the vehicle. The vehicle was located and Field Sobriety Exercises were performed by MPD Traffic Unit. The male was not determined to be under the influence and was released from the scene.
• Traffic Crash – E Fambrough St- Two vehicle crash with no injuries. Report in GEARS
• Vehicle Unlock – West Spring Street, Murphy’s- Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
• Suspicious Vehicle – MLK Jr Blvd & W Spring St – In reference to the complainant advising of a vehicle running the red light and speeding. The complainant lost contact on Hwy 78. Negative contact was made.
• Mental Subject – E Spring St. Dairy Queen – In reference to an unknown male having a mental health episode and being violent in the parking lot. Negative contact on location. The complainant was gone when officers arrived as well.
• Mechanical Breakdown – S Broad St & 6th St – In reference to the complainant advising he ran out of gas. The vehicle was observed pulling into the Chevron gas station and did not require any further assistance.
• 911 Hang Up – S Madison Ave. Walton County Health Department; In reference to a 911 hang up. The establishment was closed and no individuals were on location.
• Fight – Harris St & E Church St – In reference to a fight taking place blocking the roadway. Negative contact on location. The subjects were gone when officers arrived. The store owner of Jack Peters stated that he did not observe a fight taking place.
• Firearms – Harris St – In reference to a firearm being discharged in the vicinity. Area checks were conducted and no firearm discharges were heard.
• EMS Assist – Walton Road – In reference to an unconscious male not breathing, and EMS requesting law enforcement en route to assist. A department-issued AED was applied to the male; no shock was advised, so CPR was performed until EMS took over the scene.
• Intoxicated Driver – In reference to a subject failing to maintain and Driving into a Tree, Subject was arrested for Habitual Violator driving while license suspended, DUI and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
• EMS Assist – Breedlove Drive, Ridgeview- In reference to an EMS assist for subject who was allegedly unconscious. Upon my arrival I spoke with subject who was walking around and appeared fine and advised that she did not require EMS. I asked her why she was on location at Ridgeview in the first place. She informed me that her mother (who was in Detroit) wanted her to go for an appointment, however she did not want to be seen. I informed her that she was an adult and did not have to be treated if she did not want to be, to which she agreed. She was driven off the scene by her friends shortly after.
• Child Abuse – Tall Oaks W; In reference to a 6-year-old juvenile being struck in the head. Contact was made with subject. She stated that she does not have a 6-year-old child and that it was just her and her two daughters ages 8 and 11 at the residence. Neither juvenile was struck.
• Safety Check – West Spring / GWA / 1 tow / 2 Citations
• Suicidal Ideations – E Church St – In reference to subject having suicidal ideations. Subject stated that she believes her boyfriend notified law enforcement due to a verbal altercation on the phone. Subject stated that she does not want to hurt herself or anyone else.
• Domestic Dispute Non-Violent – E Church St – In reference to two subjects engaging in a verbal argument. One agreed to leave for the evening. Remedies were advised
• Unknown Law – Towler St – In reference to complainant stating that when he returned home he observed swelling in the face of his girlfriend. He stated that her vision was going in and out and that she left the residence approximately 30 minutes before officer’s arrival. While officers were on location she requested transport by EMS to Piedmont Walton due to back pain, leg pain and shortness of breath. She was turned over to EMS.
• Other Law – Blaine St – Complainant reported people calling fake calls on her to make the police come to her house. Remedies advised
• Suicide Attempt – Hwy 138 / Great Oaks – In reference to a female taking too much medication. Turned over to Walton EMS.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Highway 78 Eastbound – In reference to a Honda passenger car driving with its hazard lights activated and failing to maintain its lane. The area was checked, with negative contact.
• 911 Hang-up – Douglas Street – Static on the line, no answer on call back. Area was checked and contact was made with the homeowner who advised all was okay.
• Threats – Alcovy Street; Monroe Pediatrics. In reference to a civil case. Civil remedies were advised.
• Suspicious Person – Tate Street; Brooklyn Commons – In reference to an unknown subject walking around on the caller’s porch at night. The subject was captured via a doorbell camera. Extra patrol requested.
• 911 Hang-up – Unisia Drive – Static on the line, no answer on call back. Contact made with staff who advised all okay.
• Other Law – Pavilion Parkway; Publix – In reference to the complainant requesting a transport back to their residence. The complainant was given a courtesy ride back to their residence.
• Vehicle Unlock – Landers Street – In reference to subject calling due to locking her keys in her vehicle. Vehicle unlocked without damage.
• Juvenile Complaint – Carver Pl – Caller turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office per the caller’s request.
• Theft – South Broad St / John’s Supermarket – In reference to three subjects shoplifting groceries. Report taken.
