The City of Monroe has put out a notification that motorists will no longer be permitted to turn left from McDaniel Street onto S. Broad Street during the daytime hours. New signage giving the directive will be posted.
According to a notice from the city, “to help keep traffic flowing during peak hours in the Downtown area, effective Friday March 1st, NO LEFT TURNS will be allowed from McDaniel St. onto S. Broad St. between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.”
This is the stop-sign intersection adjacent to CVS. Nearby alternative routes for left turns onto S. Broad at traffic signals are available at Alcovy Street W. Church Street and W. Washington Street.
