Joseph Egana, III, of Loganville, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2026 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Joseph was a native of Louisiana. He was born and raised in New Orleans and spent his time in the small town of Avondale as a child. After graduating from high school, he worked offshore for a number of years, learning adeptness, determination, and a good work ethic as a young man. Joseph became a fire alarm technician in Georgia and held multiple certifications. He married the love of his life, Cassandra Thornton, and built their life together in Loganville, GA.
He was a beloved father, husband, and brother who will be deeply missed. Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Joseph John Egana IV; father, Joseph Egana, Jr.; sister, Karen Lawrence Esteen; father-in-law, Benny Thornton, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Larry A. Esteen Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cassandra Egana; daughter, Kayla Egana; mother, Shirley (Beauro) Egana; siblings, Denaud Egana and Trina Egana; mother-in-law, Sandra Thornton; in-laws, Tammy & Bernard Chewe, LaTangia & Isaiah Brooks, Benny Thornton, Jr., Derrick Thornton, Neil Williams, Thyron Spears, nieces & nephews, Kecia & Chris Alcindor, Kimberly & Ramon Scott, Larry Esteen Jr., Tawyna Thornton; godchild, Starr Cook; several other nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
