Obituary and funeral services: Charles Horace King, 89, of Loganville

Charles Horace King, 89 of Loganville, GA, passed away on August 26, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Ruby H. King. Charles is survived by his daughter, Susan King Fitzgerald, step-daughter Felicia Swinford, and step-son Darren Harber; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; his brother, Loyd King; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives.

Charles was a native of Decatur, GA. He lived in Augusta, GA, for many years before moving to Snellville and then to Loganville. He served in the US Army and fought in the Korean conflict where he was awarded a Purple Heart. He worked as an insurance salesman and was a member of First Baptist Church of Snellville. Charles loved to work in his yard and loved people. He made it a point to greet everyone he came in contact with and they all remembered and loved him.

The Memorial service for Charles will be held at 11:30 am on August 31, 2017 at Tom Wages Funeral Home – Snellville location. The family will be greeting friends at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please send a donation to Abbey Hospice Foundation, PO Box 68, Social Circle, GA, 30025.
