Obituary: Yvonne Marie ‘Aldridge’ Russell, 96, of Loganville

Yvonne Marie (Aldridge) Russell, age 96, of Loganville, GA, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026. A Memorial Service will be held at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church, 800 Highway 29 South, Lawrenceville, GA, at a later date.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Russell; brother-in-law, Bradley Russell; and parents Florence (Frey) & Leon Aldridge. She is survived by her sons, Todd (Melinda Price Russell) of Lawrenceville, GA, and Dana (Kim Shelnutt Russell) of Loganville, GA; and daughter, Sherry Scoville (Richard Scoville) of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Stephen Scoville (Callie Smith Scoville) of Nashville, TN, Sydney Russell (Michael Lananna) of Durham, NC, Matthew Russell (Misa Saikawa) of Niigata City, Japan, Drake Scoville (Monica Krubek Scoville) of Camas, WA, Andrew Russell (Aryn Dennard Russell) of Lawrenceville, GA, Benjamin Russell (Tessa Bobo Russell) of Loganville, GA; great-grandchildren, Emma Russell, Sadie Russell, and Boston Scoville; sister-in-law, Judith Russell of Java Village, NY; nephews, Mark Russell (Jen Russell) and Paul Russell; and great-nieces Madison Russell and Taylor Russell.

Yvonne trained as an artist at Albright Art School in Buffalo, NY, and was employed as a graphic artist at Flint & Kent department store. After meeting as members of The Angeles Singers in Buffalo, Yvonne and Dale married in 1956. She and Dale moved the family to Lawrenceville, GA, in 1972. In Lawrenceville, she was employed for a number of years as a paraprofessional by the Gwinnett County School System. She continued painting as a hobby throughout her life and shared her talents by giving private art lessons to a number of students. Yvonne and Dale were longtime members of Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church and members and soloists in the church choir and Gwinnett Choral Guild.
