Railroad crossing maintenance to close sections of SR 11, SR 211 this month

WINDER, GA– On Monday CSX Railroad will begin performing maintenance on the railroad crossing on State Route 11 (SR) 11 in Winder. This may impact local drivers who work in Barrow County or who travel this way. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the maintenance will close the roadway that carries traffic over the railroad tracks. This closure will last for five days, traffic will be detoured by way of SR 11, Bus. 29 and E Midland Ave.

This project will continue on Monday, Jan. 21, when CSX will close the railroad crossing on SR 211 to traffic for five days. Traffic will be detoured by way of Atlanta Highway, 8th St. and Broad St. Clearly marked signage will be placed along with barricades that indicate where the roadway is closed to traffic
