WALTON COUNTY, GA (July 7, 2026) – Alcovy Judicial Circuit District Attorney Randy McGinley announced last week that Benjamin Seth Ramey has been sentenced to 35 years, with the first 25 to be served in prison and the remainder on probation following his conviction by a Walton County jury on May 8, 2026.
Ramey had been convicted of Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, but sentencing was withheld pending the completion of a presentence investigation by the Department of Community Supervision. Ramey remained in custody during the sentencing.
On July 1, the case was back before Senior Judge Mingledorff for a sentencing hearing.
“After hearing from both the State and the defense, the Court accepted the State’s recommendation and sentenced Ramey to 35 years with the first 25 years in prison, the remainder on probation,” McGinley said.
