Shepherd’s Staff Ministries has moved to its new location at 2240 Commerce Drive, but due to the social distancing program implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will not be helping clients at the location for the next two weeks.
“We have called all 700 clients who will be receiving home delivery food this week and we will make our calls for the following week mid-next week,” said Megan Herndon, director of Shepherd’s Staff in Loganville.
Shepherd’s Staff Ministries, Inc. is a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt, non-profit serving the residents of Loganville. It is a Christian ministry supported by generous donations from churches, individuals, businesses, civic organizations and grantors. It helps more than 11,000 people each year with food, clothing, utility assistance, emergency housing, glasses for school-aged children, special holiday meals, a free shopping day at Christmas, continued education or connection to other community resources. It also provides targeted nutrition for clients who need help managing a health condition that can be improved through diet and exercise.
The Shepherd Staff Ministries warehouse opened this past week after a two-week close down to move into the new, larger facilities. Herndon said the new facility will better meet their needs and allow them to serve the community in new ways.
“We are moved and settling in,” Herndon said. “We were open this week but will be operational only from a home delivery standpoint the next two weeks.”
Herndon said they are currently serving the clients they already have, but if anyone in the community has elderly or families with children who are not currently being served or who are in need, they will attempt to help them too. They can contact Shepherd’s Staff through the Facebook page at this link.
Below are two videos that Herndon recently put out on Facebook, the first one is directly below and an update below that.
