This week dawns with two new food choices in Monroe – Scoops, which opened Friday, and Panera Bread, which opened Monday.
Scoops did a brisk business this weekend after opening its doors Friday. With the Spring Fest and opening of the Farmers Market in downtown Monroe Saturday, there were plenty of people in town wanting to stop in and sample the ice cream, smoothie and candy options offered by Scoops.
According to the website, Scoops specializes in “premium ice cream, candy, chocolates and specialty treats.” Located at 140 N. Broad Street, it is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Featuring a drive-thru, catering, also large outdoor seating area and rapid pick up, Panera Bread opens its newest bakery-cafe in Monroe on Monday, May 15.
Located at 1223 West Spring Street, Panera Bread in Monroe is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on a Sunday, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday thru Friday and from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on a Saturday. Major credit cards are accepted.
