Update: Trooper First Class Cal Barton with Georgia State Patrol said one person was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center with “serious but non life-threatening injuries” following a motorcycle wreck on Highway 78 on Monday morning, Aug. 14, 2017.
A 2004 triumph 600 was in right hand lane traveling west and a 2013 Ford F 150 was in the left lane, also traveling west.
“The motorcycle was a little ahead and changed lanes from right to left,” Barton said. “He hit the brake and it caught, causing him to come to an almost complete stop and the F150 ran into it. The motorcyclist was ejected.”
Baton said that no alcohol or drugs were involved and no charges have been filed. Although the injuries were considered non life-threatening, Barton said names are not being released at this time to ensure that the motorcyclist’s family could be notified first.
