Representatives from Walton County agencies involved in emergency preparedness, including 911, Fire Rescue, Sheriff’s Department, Public Works, Facilities, Emergency Management, and Emergency Medical Services, took part in an exercise that simulated activation of Walton County’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Thursday, January 4, 2018. The EOC is activated in response to emergencies, including inclement weather events like Hurricane Irma or winter storms, which require a coordinated large-scale response.  This exercise was designed to establish procedures for EOC activation and interagency cooperation and to optimize 911 call response. The Walton County EOC is housed in the Walton County Fire Rescue Headquarters located at 1000 Heritage Parkway in Between.
