Walton County is hosting a 5K Run and a Kayak race on Saturday Aug. 15, 2026. The county’s leisure specialist, Tim Wallace, said the hope is that events like this will help get more people involved in the local community. This is the third 5K that the Walton County government is hosting and the second kayak race.
The 5K and kayak race will take place at the Hard Labor Creek Reservoir located at 422 Social Circle Fairplay Road in Social Circle. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $30. Registration can be made by clicking on the QR code or at this link. The kayak race follows the 5K. Bring your own kayak and take on the waters of the reservoir. You can do the both the 5K and the kayak race or either one or the other for the $30 entry fee.
