Walton firefighters to wear the red and black for ‘UGA Football Friday’

If you see any Walton County firefighters Friday, you can tip your UGA Bulldog cap to them and they can officially tip theirs back. The same for firefighters in Loganville.

“The governor has declared tomorrow ‘UGA Day’. Our firefighters get a rare reprieve on our uniform policy by being allowed to wear a Dawg hat or toboggan,” said Capt. Jeff Allen with Walton County Fire Rescue. “I spoke to Chief (Karl) Morrow, and Loganville is doing it too.”

Allen said WCFR Assist. Fire Chief Kevin Haney gave the official go ahead after Gov. Nathan Deal signed a proclamation on Thursday making Friday, Jan. 5, “UGA Football Friday,” encouraging the Bulldawg Nation to represent by wearing the red and black all day.
