A Loganville man lifeflighted following a motorcycle wreck Sunday morning

Georgia State Patrol report that a 46-year-old Loganville man was lifeflighted to Gwinnett Medical Center after a head on collision Sunday morning between his motorcycle a Ford Bronco on Piney Grove Road near Piney Brook Hollow.

GSP Trooper First Class Cal Barton said the accident happened at about 10:41 a.m. on June 25, 2017. Lloyd Jones, 46, of Loganville, on a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle (vehicle 1)was traveling southbound on Piney Grove Road and John Moody, 55, also of Loganville, was traveling northbound in a 1995 Ford Bronco (vehicle 2).

“Vehicle #1 crossed the center lane while applying the brakes and lost control of the vehicle striking the front and driver side of vehicle 2 with the front of vehicle #1,” Barton said. “The driver of vehicle #1 was then ejected from the motorcycle before coming to a final rest in the roadway.”

Barton said the Jones was lifeflighted to Gwinnett Medical Center with critical injures, but is expected to survive. He was issued two warnings, one for failure to maintain lane and one for driving too fast for conditions. The accident closed Piney Grove Road for a time Sunday in order for emergency personnel to work the wreck.
