The death toll in Georgia as a result of CoVID-19 is now at 32, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health and the number of confirmed cases is now 1026. This is the latest update at noon on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. This update is now being given twice a day by the GDPH, at noon and at 7 p.m. each day.
Walton County is reporting its first case.
At this time, Georgia is back up to 10th in the United States for the number of confirmed cases and in the top five for the number of deaths. It is important that everybody heeds the guidance on how to slow the spread. However, the number of cases reported is directly reflective of the number of tests that are now being done. More than 5,000 tests have been conducted with almost 4,000 of them in commercial laboratories.
