Breaking: Structure fire shuts down Park Street in Walnut Grove

Walton County Fire Rescue report that a structure fire has shut down Park Street in Walnut Grove between Greenhill Road and Church Way. WCFR Capt. Jeff Allen said the fire has heavily damaged the unoccupied structure.

(The) fire is under control. There are no injuries,” Allen said at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018. “The City of Loganville Fire Department assisted as well as Walton County Sheriff’s Office and EMS.”

Allen said it is likely that the fire was the result of a lightning strike. Walton County is currently under a Severe Storm Watch until 8 p.m. this evening.
