A wreck involving a single vehicle and a pole resulted in no injuries, but is likely to result in a power outage and shut down the road for several hours. Capt. Jack Armstrong with Monroe Fire Department said the accident is at 321 Highland Avenue in Monroe.

“We do have the road blocked until utilities arrive and secure the location,” Armstrong said. “Power will be interrupted soon.”
Armstrong said the road and utilities will likely be shut down for several hours. He also reminded anyone who finds themselves in this situation to never exit the vehicle with electrical lines on or near you or your car.
“Respect all downed lines,” he said.
