Last month, the Monroe Police Department held its inaugural 5K SWAT Trot 5/10K run to help raise funds for the 2024 Shop with a Cop program. This month, the Southern Ox Axe Throwing is hosting an afternoon of Chili Tasting to add to the fundraising effort.
With the festive season fast approaching, thoughts are turning to what is going to be found under the Christmas tree this year. Unfortunately that is often a problem for many families in the community, maybe more so than usual this year due to the economy. Every year, organizations and agencies step up to help make sure that as many children as possible still get to share in the excitement of the Christmas season despite financial difficulties. Shop with a Cop is MPD’s contribution to the effort.
You are invited to swing by the Southern Axe between 2 and 5 p.m. Nov. 17 for the Shop with a Cop Chili Tasting event to get to “taste some great chili for a great cause.”
Tasting tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children. If you are interested in being a chili contestant or an event sponsor you can call 770-354-9676 to sign up!
Southern Ox Axe is located at 320 S Madison Ave, Monroe, GA 30655-1614, United States. Spread the word
