Church news and events: First Presbyterian Church of Monroe

This Sunday (3/19) we celebrate the 3rd Sunday in Lent. Things get underway at 9:15 a.m. with food and fellowship at the Breakfast Table.  Sunday School, for all ages, follows at 9:45 a.m.  Our traditional worship service is at 11 a.m.; Pastor George Rogers’ sermon, “I Am the Bread of Life”, is based on John 6.25-59.  We will celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism.

On Tue (3/21) at 6:30 p.m. our “Saints” (seniors’ group) will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Monroe Golf & Country Club.

The third of five community-wide Lenten Worship & Lunch services is being held on Wed 3/22 at noon at the First Baptist Church of Monroe.  The offering will go to FISH Ministries.

You’re invited to attend our Zumba class on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 pm. in our Fellowship Hall.  Tuesdays at 10 a.m., come to our Pastor’s Bible Study; our current focus is the book of Acts.  Men are invited to our Man’s Cave on Thursdays at 10 a.m.; we enjoy refreshments and solve the world’s problems.

On Sat (3/25) our Powder & Brass (firearms enthusiast) group will meet at the WCSO outdoor range at 10 a.m.
