The Walton County Emergency Management Agency and the Walton County Local Emergency Planning Committee are sponsoring a Community Forum on School Safety from 7 – 9 p.m. tomorrow, Aug. 23, 2018.
The event will take place at the Praise Center on Highway 78 NW in the Monroe area of Walton County.
The hosting panel consists of school, mental health, law enforcement, fire department, emergency and emergency services. They will present information about what strategies are currently in place to keep students safe, how threats are identified and what steps are taken to mitigate potentially threatening situations. The panel also will discuss how potential events will be addressed and how parents and families will be kept informed should the unthinkable happen in the local area.
