Longtime Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman retires at the end of the year and will be succeeded by Sheriff-elect Keith Brooks. The community is invited to a retirement party for Chapman on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024 to wish him well in his retirement. The event will take place from 3 – 6 p.m. at the Walton County Government Building located at 303 S Hammond Drive in Monroe.
