COVID-19: Cases continue to rise globally, nationwide and as well as in the local area

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020. Gwinnett County is reporting five more deaths, Walton County is reporting one more deaths and Georgia is reporting 142 more deaths in the past 48 hours. 

In the USA, there were 121,167 more cases confirmed in just the past 24 hours, 3009 of them in Georgia.

Walton County

Cases – 2,807 – 54 reported in the past 48 hours – 282 in the past 2 weeks .
Cases per 100,000 – 2,930 cumulative (294 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 76 – that’s 1 more death reported over the past 48 hours (deaths per 100,000 is 78.3)
Testing 11.5 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 9.8 % 

Gwinnett County

Cases – 36,153 – that’s 483 reported over the past 48 hours (3,047 in the past 2 weeks).
Cases per 100,000 – 3,723 cumulative (314 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 492 – That’s 5 more death reported in the past 48 hours (50.1 deaths per 100,000 reported)
Testing – 8.4 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 9.5 %

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 416,303 – that is 5,301 more cases reported in the past 48 hours 
ICU admissions – 6,434 – 30 more admission reports in the past 48 hours Hospitalizations – 34,605 – That’s 192 more hospitalizations reported in the past 48 hours, 
Total deaths – 8,746 – That is 142 more deaths reported in the past 48 hours

An additional 706 Antigen positive cases were reported in the past 24 hours.

A total of 4,258,413 PCR/Molecular tests have been performed and 361,442 antibody tests. That is 31,722 PCR/Molecular test results reported in the last 24 hours. Of the these tests performed collectively, 390,028 (9.2 %) have come back positive and 35,569 (9.8%) antibody tests have come back positive. Today 2,645 (8.3 %) PCR/Molecular tests came back positive.
