COVID-19: Walton County Government closes offices and outlying buildings to foot traffic

The Walton County Government is closing all its offices and outlying buildings to foot traffic effective at close of business, Friday, March 20, 2020, until further notice.

The following statement was released Friday afternoon.

The Coronavirus is rapidly spreading across the country, as well as the state of Georgia. As we enter uncharted territory due to this pandemic, Walton County Government’s Elected Officials, Constitutional Officers, and Department Heads want to ensure our citizens that the safety of our constituents and employees remains our top priority.  

As a mitigation tool, we will be taking the necessary precautions to keep our employees and our citizens safe. At the close of business on Friday, March 20, 2020, Walton County Government will close all offices and outlying buildings to foot traffic. The Courts and other Court services will remain open by the order of the Supreme Court. 

All Walton County employees will continue to work and can be of assistance by phone, email, or by appointment. The Tax/Tag Department will have a drop-box available near the front parking lot of the Walton County Government Building located at 303 Hammond Drive. 

We are trying to acknowledge the request of the President and the Governor by practicing social distancing and isolation.
