COVID-19: Walton County reporting 1,005 and Gwinnett 742 more positive cases per 100k in the last two weeks

Walton outstrips Gwinnett in positive cases per 100k

The following is a snapshot of the statistics reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020. Gwinnett County is reporting four more deaths, Walton County is reporting no more deaths and Georgia is reporting 68 more deaths in the past 24 hours. 

Walton County

Cases – 4,602 – 133 reported in the past 24 hours- 963 in the past 2 weeks 
Cases per 100,000 – 4,803 cumulative (1,005 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 87 – that’s no more deaths reported over the past 24 hours (deaths per 100,000 is 90.8)
Testing 28.5 % positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 12.8 % 

Gwinnett County

Cases – 51,509 – that’s 879 reported over the past 24 hours (7,208 in the past 2 weeks).
Cases per 100,000 – 5,304 cumulative (742 per 100,000 in past 2 weeks)
Total deaths – 562 – That’s four more deaths reported in the past 24 hours (57.9 deaths per 100,000 reported)
Testing – 20.7% positive in the past 2 weeks, overall 11.2 %

Georgia

Confirmed cases – 566,676 that is 8,551 more cases reported in the past 24 hours.
ICU admissions – 7,417 – 42 more admissions reported in the past 24 hours Hospitalizations – 42,084– That’s 306 more hospitalizations reported in the past 24 hours, 
Total deaths – 9,872– That is 68 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours

An additional 3,539 Antigen positive cases were reported in the past 24 hours.

A total of 5,349,390 PCR/Molecular tests have been performed and 403,179 antibody tests. That is 44,597 PCR/Molecular test results reported in the last 24 hours. Of the these tests performed collectively, 540,689 (10.1 %) have come back positive and 46,052 (11.4 %) antibody tests have come back positive. Today 9,123 (20.5 %) PCR/Molecular tests came back positive.

Walton County Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities 

Great Oaks, Monroe – 25 confirmed staff members and 45 residents. One more residents and no more staff members reported positive in the past 24 hours. There have been three deaths, one more reported in the past 24 hours.

Hollander Senior Living, Monroe, Two residents, 3 confirmed staff case, one deaths – That’s one more staff member, two residents reporting positive and one death reported in the past 24 hours.

Magnolia Senior Living – Loganville – (Gwinnett County) has 2 staff member who have tested positive – That is no additional case reported in the past 24 hours.

Park Place, Monroe – 104 resident cases, 56 confirmed staff cases, 24 deaths – That’s no more staff, no more resident cases and no more deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

The Retreat at Loganville Pearl Memory Care Building – 23 confirmed resident cases, four deaths – 19 recovered – 1 staff member – No change in the past 24 hours.

The Retreat at Loganville: 39 confirmed resident cases – 25 staff cases and 6 deaths. That is no more residents, no more staff cases or resident deaths in the past 24 hours.

Social Circle Nursing and Rehab in Social Circle is reporting that 23 residents and 13 staff members tested positive for COVID-19 and two resident death were reported. No more cases reported or deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
