Family displaced by house fire in Walton County Tuesday afternoon

According to Walton County Fire Rescue Assistant Fire Chief Craig League, WCFR and Monroe Fire Department responded to a house fire at 5:57 pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, on Oakland Drive off Laboon Road. The house fire was the result of a fire in the kitchen.

“The home sustained moderate damage to the kitchen, and smoke damage throughout. The fire displaced 1 adult and 1 child,” League said. “The victims are staying with relatives and Red Cross has been contacted for assistance as well.”
