Job Title: Field & Shop Service Technician
Position Overview
FireLine is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our team in Winder, GA. This hybrid role combines on-the-road field service repairs with vital in-shop preparation and maintenance. The ideal candidate possesses advanced electrical and OBD-type diagnostic capabilities to ensure our emergency vehicles and trucks operate at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
Field Service & Diagnostics
- Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize OBD-type diagnostic software and specialized tools to accurately troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Electrical Expertise: Perform advanced electrical system testing, wire routing, and component replacement on emergency apparatus.
- Mobile Repairs: Travel to customer locations to deliver prompt, high-quality field repairs and minimize vehicle downtime.
Shop Operations (Winder, GA)
- New Truck Prep: Install aftermarket equipment, specialized gear, and final configurations on new fleet deliveries.
- Customer Vehicle Service: Complete standard maintenance, and upgrades on customer trucks brought into the shop.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment when working locally.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong proficiency in automotive/heavy-truck electrical systems and wiring schematics.
- Proven experience with OBD-type diagnostic tools and software scanner systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
- Ability to work independently on the road and collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or relevant certifications (ASE, EVT) is a major plus.
Job Title: PM (Preventive Maintenance) Technician

This position focuses on critical preventive maintenance and vehicle inspections to ensure emergency apparatus remain safe and reliable. This is a growth-oriented role designed for a motivated individual looking to build a career and train to become a full-service Field & Shop Technician.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Inspections
- Routine Service: Perform oil changes, fluid flushes, filters replacement, and chassis lubrication.
- Comprehensive Inspections: Conduct rigorous vehicle inspections following the FireLine Guideline checklist to identify safety or mechanical issues.
- Documentation: Accurately write up and document any needed repairs or deficiencies discovered during the PM inspection process.
Training & Career Growth
- Skills Development: Participate in hands-on training to learn advanced mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills.
- Career Pathing: Work alongside experienced senior technicians to prepare for advancement into a Service Technician role.
Qualifications & Skills
