The Georgia Department of Transportation announced Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant awards for the cities in Walton County as well as Walton and Gwinnett County governments.
Municipalities and counties are awarded funds with a conditional local match, requiring them to spend a certain amount to receive the total in state funding. Each grant requires a 30 percent financial match.
The grants can be used for road improvements and other transportation needs within their jurisdictional limits.
Local jurisdictions receiving funds were:
- Good Hope – $9,604
- Jersey – $6,014
- Loganville – $208,499
- Monroe – $249,861
- Social Circle – $114,427
- Walnut Grove – $26,621
- Walton County – $1,709,144
- Gwinnett County – $9,449,054
