Gwinnett County PD seek information in fatal motorcycle accident over the Thanksgiving weekend

There were 24 road fatalities recorded in Georgia over the Thanksgiving weekend, including the death of a 46-year-old Dacula resident in a motorcycle accident that occurred on Nov. 27 just after 6:30 p.m.

According to a press release from Gwinnett County Police Department, officers originally responded to the single vehicle accident at the intersection of Braselton Highway and Hog Mountain Church Road in reference. Investigators believe the motorcycle involved was traveling south on Braselton Hwy when the driver locked his brakes to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of him, causing the driver of the motorcycle to be thrown from the bike. John Mathews died at the scene. No other vehicles were struck during the accident.
