The community is invited to History on Tap, an afternoon of conversation about Monroe’s history, historic preservation and the stories that have helped shape the city. The event will take place Sunday at 3 p.m. at Grizzle Beer located at 208 S Broad St. in Monroe
Organized with the Historical Society of Walton County and Monroe Museum, the program will highlight the history of the building now home to Grizzle Beer. The building was originally constructed in the 1920s by J.L. McGarity as a Ford dealership, giving the gathering a fitting setting for a discussion about preserving Monroe’s historic places.
Historic preservationist Chad Draper of The Eulalia Group and Monroe historian Steve Brown of the Monroe Museum will share their knowledge and lead the conversation.
The event is free and open to the public, offering residents an opportunity to learn more about Monroe’s past while discussing the importance of preserving its historic character for future generations.
