|Historic 2018 session continues . . .|
|This past Friday, Governor Nathan Deal signed HB 918 into law cutting Georgia’s income tax rate for the first time since 1937!. This measure will leave over $5 billion in your wallet rather than the state’s over the next five years. On Monday, March 5, the Governor will sign HB 159 the first update to Georgia’s adoption statutes in over a generation. Loving families will be better able to adopt reducing the time Georgia’s children remain in foster care while cutting the costs and burdens associated with adoption.|
Cross Over Day, Night, and Morning
Wednesday, February 28 was “Cross Over Day” and the House convened at 10:00 a.m. and adjourned for the day at approximately 1:10 a.m. on Thursday morning. Cross Over Day is the deadline for a piece of legislation to pass out of its original chamber and remain eligible for consideration by the opposite chamber.

This is qualifying week at the Capitol. All members of the General Assembly, Representatives and Senators, are up for reelection. The primary election is on May 22 and the general election is November 6, 2018.
With your continued support, I intend to qualify for reelection. It has been a great honor, my pleasure, and a lot of fun too to serve as your Representative at the state Capitol. I hope to earn your continued support and I ask for your vote on election day.
