COVINGTON, GA – Veterans are invited to a free event to learn about services dedicated to them on Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Walton Community Center in Social Circle.
The Veterans Know Your Rights event, which is hosted by the NewRock Legal Society, will bring together various providers of veterans services in an informal session..
“NewRock Legal Society serves Newton, Rockdale, and Walton Counties. This event has previously been held in Rockdale and Newton Counties and has always provided valuable information and help to our veterans. This year we are excited to bring the event to Walton County,” said Rockdale County Superior Court Judge Maureen Wood, who serves as NewRock’s president.
Veterans can speak with representatives from the Georgia Department of Veterans Services, Disabled American Veterans, Grace Rose Health Consultants, The American Legion, Walton County Veterans Association and David Chester of U.S. House Representative Mike Collins Office.
“This event will be beneficial to not only the veterans, but their families too,” said Alcovy Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Cheveda D. McCamy, who presides over the Veterans Treatment Court and serves as NewRock’s vice president. “ I learn something new each year I attend.”
