Pledge to have suitable candidate within 90 days

LOGANVILLE, GA. – At the September 2026 Loganville City Council meeting, the council chose Athens-based Mercer Group Associates as the search firm it will use to find a replacement for Loganville City Manager Danny Roberts, who announced recently that he will be leaving the post when his current contract expires early next year.

Roberts has served as city manager since 2017, and his pending departure will cap a 28-year career with the city, which included service as the city’s fire chief.

Mercer Group Associates will do the work for a base fee of $18,000, and a maximum additional charge of $4,900 for reimbursable expenses such as marketing materials design, advertising and travel. The company has indicated it could have a candidate for the city manager’s post within 90 days.

Mercer Group Associates was one of three firms vying for the task of finding Roberts’ replacement. Also making pitches for the work were Atlanta-based Sumter Local Government Consulting, which submitted a $24,000 proposal with an eight-week timeline, and Norcross-located Slavin Management Consultants, which submitted a $15,820 proposal with a 45- to 60-day timeline.
