LOGANVILLE — The Loganville City Council has approved a series of upgrades to Toddler Park, a popular downtown play space, with plans focusing on safety, accessibility and inclusive play.

The park, located at the corner of C.S. Floyd Road and Pecan Street, is designed for young children and is considered one of the city’s most frequently used recreational spots. City officials say the improvements will modernize the space while making it more accessible to children of all abilities.

Council Member Patti Wolfe emphasized the importance of inclusivity in public spaces. “Playgrounds should be for all children, and this will accomplish that,” she said.

The project has been awarded to Lagniappe Development Company of Buford and will include new safety surfacing, updated play equipment designed for children with disabilities, and sensory stations aimed at encouraging interactive play.

Mayor Branden Whitfield said the investment reflects the city’s commitment to its youngest residents. “By including inclusive facilities, we are ensuring that all of our youngest residents have a place to play and grow,” he said.

Assistant City Manager Dr. Jeff Smith noted the park’s heavy use and said the upgrades will benefit families who visit regularly while enhancing the look of the downtown area.

Construction will require a temporary closure of the park, though officials said efforts are being made to minimize disruption. The city plans to share updates on the construction schedule and reopening timeline as they become available.
