Loganville Lions Club chooses 2017-18 officers

At its last meeting, the Loganville Lions Club nominated new officers for the 2017-18 year. Current Club President Rey Martinez was nominated to serve another year as president and Howard Brown and Chris Gallman were selected as First & Second Vice-Presidents respectively. Martinez presented an Appreciation Award to Gallman and Lion of the Year Award to Brown. Martinez went on to congratulate them on the award and to thank the members for reelecting him to serve another year.
“Thank You to all members for entrusting me to lead the Lions Club for one more year. I will do my very best to fulfill the mission of our founder Melvin Jones,” Martinez said.  “I would like to take this opportunity to again congratulate Lions Chris Gallman & Howard Brown on their award. They deserved every bit of it. Also, all the other Lion members who received pins for perfect attendance and Golden Chain Awards.”

Lions Club International is the world’s largest service club organization with 14 million members in 46,000 clubs around the world. Martinez noted that there are 34 members in the Loganville Club, where 100 percent of funds raised go to local charities. These charities include Walton County Special Olympics, Loganville Communities in School, Shepard Staff Ministries, and many more.
