MDP Reports: Slew of disputes; EMS assists; opening locked vehicles; firearms/fireworks reports

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 26 – 31, 2025, 2025. Due to the length, this report has been split into three parts. This is the part part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Burglary- S Broad St – The business was left vacant and unsecured. No burglary occurred.
• Vehicle Unlock – East Church St @ Chestnut Cupboard; In reference to a Ford Focus. Vehicle opened, no damage.
• Vehicle Unlock – Walker Drive – In reference to a Dodge Charger. Vehicle opened, no damage.
• 911 Hang Up – Kendall Ct: Call was cleared by responding unit. Homeowner stated it is a Windstream issue during bad weather.
• Unsecure Premise – South Broad St; Residence was cleared and side door was re-secured. All was ok.
• Accident – W Spring Street / MLK Jr Blvd – Two vehicle accident with no injuries called out of Walton County Fire Department. Report taken see GEARS.
• Found Property – Ridge Road – In reference to mail that was found in the parking lot. The mail was collected and taken to the post office.
• Mechanical Breakdown – West Spring Street, Texaco. In reference to the complainant having a flat tire. Assistance was provided and the tire was changed.
• 911 Hang-up – Pinecrest Dr. Weather related, ongoing issue. Spoke with the homeowner and everything was okay.
• Dispute -140 MLK JR, Dominos. In reference to a dispute between complainant and the Dominos employees about getting his order wrong. Situation was mediated and complainant left the store.
• Dispute – West Spring Street Piedmont Walton – In reference to a named subject threatening staff members. He was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office without incident.
• EMS Assist – Michael Cir. In reference to subject slipping on a puzzle box laying on the floor and dislocating her ankle. Turned over to EMS.
• Suspicious Person – Piedmont-Walton. In reference to complainant upset over not being allowed to be with subject while she is being treated. No action taken.
• Welfare Check – Pavilion Pkwy; Planet Fitness – In reference to subject, an elderly male who recently had a stroke was located not knowing where he is and how he got here. Subject was turned over to EMS and a DDS-270 form was filled out.
• Suspicious Vehicle – 2nd St at 2nd Street Lane – In reference to locating an unoccupied vehicle with the keys in the ignition, gloves in the passenger seat and the vehicle was unlocked. Contact was made with the RO, which provided an unclear explanation about his vehicle and who had possession of it. Report taken.
• Business Alarm – Sake – All doors and windows secure.
• Suspicious Vehicle – West Spring Street – In reference to subject parked in front of closed businesses. Subject advised that he worked at the Quality Foods store and was waiting for his manager to come to work and let him into the building. No further action taken.
• EMS Assist/DOA – South Madison Ave – Subject found deceased by family member this date. Med history of congestive heart failure, COPD, and High Blood pressure. Turned over to the coroner.
• Business Alarm – Mayfield Dr. – In reference to the alarm, employee was on location and advised everything was okay.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78 at N Broad St. – In reference to the suspicious vehicle, the complainant did not still have contact with the vehicle. The area was checked with negative contact with the suspect vehicle.
• Vehicle Unlock – Mears St. – Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Suspicious/Mental Person – Glenwood Dr. – Subject on location requesting a mental evaluation. Subject was transported to Athens with no issues.
• Vehicle Unlock – S. Broad St. – Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Juvenile Complaint – Mears St- Reference three juveniles on location in the playground area while business was closed. Juveniles left upon request and all was ok.
• Vehicle Unlock – Allstar: Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Traffic Stop – S Madison Ave/E Washington St: Female stopped for a traffic
offense. She was found to have multiple felony forgery warrants for arrest out of Athens Clarke County and Clayton County. She was arrested and turned over to the Walton County Jail without incident.
• Dispute – E Spring Street: The Fish – In reference to two male subjects attempting to dump trash in the dumpster before being confronted by staff. The subject then became verbally aggressive before leaving the scene. Negative contact with the vehicle or subjects involved.
• Vehicle Lockout – West Spring Street @ Monroe Library; In reference to a Jeep. Vehicle opened, no damage.
• Vehicle Unlock – Checkers: Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Traffic Stop/Wanted Person – Highway 138 / Michael Etchison Rd – Vehicle stopped for traffic violation. The driver provided a false name and then refused to identify himself upon being confronted. The driver was identified as a subject who had a warrant out of Fulton County for Violation Of Probation and a warrant out of Gordon County for Failure To Appear. He was arrested on the warrants and Obstruction charges and his vehicle was turned over to Taylors.
• Dispute – Etten Road – Two subjects arguing on location. Sierra was extremely drunk and obstructed the investigation, leading to an arrest and the use of force. Warrants obtained for obstruction and use of force report completed.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Lee Byrd Rd/ Hwy 78 – In reference to speeding and reckless vehicle on Hwy 78 EB in Between heading toward Monroe, WCSO made contact before it got to the city
• Mechanical Breakdown – James Huff Road, Hwy 78 – In reference to a truck broken down in the roadway. The vehicle was removed from the roadway by towing service.
• Alarm – Brookwood Ln – Contact was made with the home owners, all appeared ok.
• Damage to Property – Arcadia Court- In reference to a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver striking the complainant’s garage door.
• Business alarm – MLK Jr, Carmichaels – All windows and doors secured. No signs of forced entry or foul play.
• Unknown law – Towler St. – In reference to someone calling 911. Contact was made with a resident at apartment 2 and advised everything was ok. Apt 1 was vacant. All appeared ok.
• Traffic Stop / Arrest – Michael Etchinson Rd / Hwy 138- Vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation. The passenger was taken into custody was in possession of a stolen firearm and was taken into custody for theft by receiving stolen property.
• Burglary Attempt – Parkway Place – In reference to the complainant advising two white males were trying to come through her front door. Negative contact made with any suspects. It was determined that the complainant had dementia and this was an ongoing issue once I spoke with her husband.
• Alarm – Carmichaels- In reference to an audible alarm being heard. Doors and windows were checked and appeared secure.
• Unsecured premise – Tanglewood Dr – In reference to subject reporting his back door unlocked and partially opened. No items were taken from the residence and no signs of damage. He suspects his previous roommate gained access. Report taken.
• Hit and Run – Valero on East Spring in reference to a Silver Hyundia vehicle striking a brown oil truck.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Douglas St – In reference to a vehicle with a door ajar and the dome light on. Contact was made with the vehicle owner who advised she did not see anything taken from the vehicle.
• Suspicious Person – Skyline Trace – Contact made with subject who was sitting inside of the vehicle attached to this report. Contact was made due to a recent rise in entering autos, the time of night and the subject wearing a dark in color hoodie all while sitting inside of the vehicle. Subject stated that he just needed to get out of the house for a bit. All okay.
• Foot Patrol – Henson Dr.- Everything OK.
Vehicle Unlock – East Spring Street, Valero. Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Alarm – Stone creek Dr- All doors & windows appeared secured. Negative contact with the complainant.
• Traffic Stop – HWY 78/Spring St – On ramp – Traffic stop initiated for no registration tag displayed. Two of the four occupants, had warrants for their arrest out of Gwinnett County. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident and turned over to WCSO deputies.
• Civil issue – Colquitt St – In reference to unwanted leaves being blown into the yard from the neighbor. Remedies advised.
• Assist Motorist – Ash Ln – Vehicle unlocked with no new damage.
• 
Alarm – MLK Jr Blvd – In reference to multiple panic alarms. All ok on location.
• Vehicle Lockout – Vehicle unlocked with no new damage.

• Accident – West Spring Street – Two vehicle private property accident. No injuries.
• Theft Report – S Broad St – In reference to complainant reporting an A/C unit being stolen. Complainant doesn’t know the individual who has taken it. Complainant wanted a complete report and will check neighbors’ cameras when she’s home.
• Warrant – New Lacy St- In reference to a named subject having a warrant at the above location. She was taken into custody without incident.
• Juvenile Complaint – Walgreens – In reference to two males selling candy in front of the store. The manager at Walgreens didn’t want them out in front. Contact was made with the subjects, and told not to solicit.
• Domestic Dispute – Custom Way – In reference to a dispute over cash app payments. Remedies advised.
• Vehicle Crash – Hwy 11 N / Charlotte Rowel Blvd- Two vehicles, no injuries. GEARS report.
• Vehicle Inspection – Arimstead Cir- Forms signed
• Agency Assist – W Spring St Ramp / Hwy 78 EB – In reference to assisting the WCSO with a non-compliant driver, the scene was turned over to the WCSO.
• Accident – Charlotte Rowell Blvd / Pavilion Pkwy – Three vehicle crash with no injuries. One vehicle was gone when officers arrived. Report in GEARS.
• Fireworks – S Madison – In reference to fireworks debris falling on the roof of the complainant’s residence, the complainant was advised that the fireworks were being shot off on private property.
• Loud music – E Church St / Landers St – In reference to loud music in the area, negative contact.
• 911 Hang-Up – Kendall Ct – Contact made with the residence owner all okay.
• Traffic Stop/arrest – Hwy 78 EB / Jim Daws Rd – In reference to a named subject driving on a suspended license. He was released on a copy of the citation.
• Firearms – E Church St – Check of the area, negative contact with gunshots in the area.
• Dispute – Wheel House Ln – In reference to subject throwing objects around the house and breaking furniture. Complainant advised that subject shoved her against a wall. Two juveniles present. Complainant refused to press charges. Complainant was advised of the Temporary Protection Order process and the pre-trial warrant process.
• Dispute – N Broad St; Food Mart – In reference to an iPhone Crash Detection with an open line and an active dispute. Upon Officer’s arrival a later identified male fled from the scene on foot. He was subsequently taken into custody near the scene. After further investigation it was found that he broke his girlfriend’s cellphone inside the store while arguing with her. The female also left the scene and when contacted by phone advised she did not want a report or to press charges. The was turned over to the Walton County Jail on warrants for Obstruction of Officer, Disorderly Conduct, Public Intox. Warrants taken.
• Fireworks – Mill St – In reference to a complainant advising people were shooting fireworks at her house. Area checked negative contact.
• Firearms – Perry St – Complainant advised they heard gun shots in the area. An area check was conducted but no gun shots were heard. There was a large amount of fireworks going off during the area check.
• Traffic Stop/DUI Arrest – W Spring St at Carwood Dr – RAM pickup truck stopped for defective equipment and suspicion of impairment. Driver was arrested for DUI alcohol. Walton was taken to WCSO jail without incident.
• Dispute – Oak St – Complainant advised boyfriend was intoxicated and would not let her in the house. I arrived and met with both parties. The boyfriend stated the female went outside on her own and he was not stopping her from coming back inside. Both parties advised on remedies.
• Traffic Stop/DUI Arrest – North Wayne St / West Highland Ave – Female subject charged with DUI and Open Container. Written warning for Too Fast for Conditions.
• Alarm – E. Church St; Chevron- All secure on location.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – E Spring St / City Market – Female subject arrested for driving without a license. Marijuana smoking paraphernalia and a Glock .45 cal located and placed into evidence. The Hyundai was impounded by Taylor’s Wrecker Service
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – N Broad St / Tanglewood Dr – In reference to stopping a named subject for an equipment violation. He was operating a vehicle with no insurance and with a suspended license. Subject was taken into custody and fingerprinted at the Monroe Police Department before being released on copy of his citation
• Dispute – E Washington St – In reference to three females arguing. Subjects agreed to leave for the night without incident.
• Welfare Check – Bridgeport Pl – In reference to a subject posting suicidal remarks on Instagram, contact was made and all was okay.
