Monroe Fire Department responded to a woods fire off of Cedar Ridge Road in Monroe on Monday, March 29, 2021. Crews are currently working on dousing the fire believed to have been sparked by Thursday night’s storms.

“The fire appears to have started from a tree being stuck during the storms we had. It had been inside the tree and spread after the storm,” MFD Battalion Chief Jack Armstrong said.
