Monroe PD Reports: Beer bottle fight, Dog in distress in car, Theft reports

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between April 21 – 27, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an  arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Hit and Run, Hwy 11.  Officer went and got out with vehicle and escorted it back to the county at incident location.  All ok.
  • Subjects possibly with firearms called 911 on Davis.  Subject ran in back of residence after officers told him to stop.  Residence was cleared and 38D (drugs) was located.  Joshua Austin was arrested.  Demacion Rivers was located walking on the sidewalk and was arrested for City Warrant.
  • Theft report, Monroe Fire Department.  Complainant advised that his debit card was stolen last date and used at the Athens First ATM.
  • Theft report taken at Monroe PD lobby.  Complainant reported that someone took her Bluetooth speaker between Sunday and Tuesday.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr., male subject disputing with girlfriend.  Subject was GOA and has a warrants out of Clarke County.
  • Welfare check in the area of Edwards/Ford.  Reference to a W/F with blood on her face and shirt.
  • Domestic problem, Ford St., Sheena Henderson advised that her daughter pushed the door open and struck her nose at 127 Nelson St.  She advised she did not want to press charges but did want her daughter out of the residence.  Jennifer Maddox advised she was leaving the residence at 127 Nelson St.
  • Juvenile Complaint ON Lakeview Dr.  Mother advised her daughter was making threats to hit people and had a knife that she was making stabbing motions with.  Mother had EMS come to the residence to check the child.
  • Complaint at Walmart.  K9 in vehicle with no air and in distress.  Made contact with owner and advised of cruelty laws.
  • Reed Ct.  Husband and wife disputing.  Debose GOA in a black Cadillac.   Debose was arrested for driving on a suspended license.
  • Turner St.  Landlord was disputing with tenant over property.
  • Theft report at E. Church St.  Subject reporting a car hauler trailer as stolen. .  Not enough information at this time to place on GCIC.
  • Douglas St.  Subjects on location wanting to retrieve a laptop that was said to have been stolen by brother.  Computer not on location.  Subjects banned by the home owner.  Subjects advised of civil process.
  • Juvenile Complaint at Harvest Ln.  Father advised his son and a neighborhood kid got into a dispute last date and the neighbors juvenile pulled a large knife.  No information as to threats being made.  Asked for documentation due to ongoing issue.
  • Dispute at Walmart.  Reference to subject being u-happy that the door greater stopped them to check their receipt.
  • Dispute, W. Creek Cir.  Subject advised that suspect smashed the birthday cake and broke the key off in the ignition of the vehicle.  Subject was GOA.  Parks did not want to press charges.
  • Domestic problem, Tanglewood Dr., male and female disputing.  Warrant to be taken on male for criminal trespass.
  • Suspicious person, Lawrence St.  Advised a tall skinny b/m with short twists keeps coming and asking for cigarettes.  Extra patrol requested.
  • Dispute, W. 5th St.  Relatives were disputing.  Kevin Cotner was arrested for Battery.
  • Large crowd in the area of Lacy St.  Crowd dispersed upon arrival.
  • Dispute @ Monroe Motor Inn..  Female was given a ride to Spring St. laundry.
  • Shoplifting @ Auto Zone.  Suspect took items from the store.  Suspect was later located with items from Auto Zone in his backpack.  Auto Zone denied prosecution.
  • Dispute @ Clearview.  Subject was causing a disturbance.  She located a ride home.
  • Agency Assist at Wayne Street near W. Spring Street; GSP pulled over a vehicle
  • Welfare Check at Walmart W. Spring St; Elderly Gentleman in a dark sedan with the windows up not running, checked 10-4, subject waiting on Pharmacy.
  • Assault at Clearview Medical Center; reference to an assault on Nelson Street, handled by day shift two hours prior.
  • Fraud report @ Country Club Drive; Complainant advised he was contacted by someone claiming to be with IRS collecting a debt and he sent them money via Walmart card.
  • Welfare Check at Pannell Rd; Complainant wanted to check on her daughter due to her boyfriend being on drugs, residence checked nobody on location.
  • W. Marable St; Subject was intoxicated and stated she was jumped on by female,  female defended herself and struck her with a beer bottle, Report taken.
