Monroe PD Reports: Domestic disputes, armed robbery on street and car chase

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between July 6 – 13, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute, Victory Dr. Subjects Victory Dr. stated that grandmother lost her cell phone and it was possibly pinged to neighbor’s house. Contact made with children and advised if they see cell phone, call police. All ok.
  • Animal complaint at E. Spring St. in regards to complainant stated neighbors behind her have a dog they let run loose and it has tried to attack her cat and dog. Negative contact with the dog and complainant advised to contact Animal Control on Monday.
  • Suicide attempt, Madison Ave. in regards to female taking too many sleeping pills. Female transported by EMS to Clearview Regional Medical Center.
  • Shoplifting, S. Broad St. (Dollar General) W/F shoplifted and then ran towards South Sid Mobile Home Park and dropped stolen items along with her purse. Female identified and a follow up will have to be completed. Purse contained Seroquel pills, meth, paraphernalia, and items that tested positive for Fentanyl. Warrants to be taken once shoplifting investigation is completed due to Dollar General being closed by the time a unit was able to respond.
  • 911 hang-up, Pine Park St., domestic between relatives. Both parties extremely intoxicated, no actual signs of violence. Report taken
  • Domestic, Cook Place, actually a subject that was intoxicated. Contact made w/ male who stated he was being chased by Haitians. No dispute took place and male picked up by a friend. All ok.
  • Dispute, White Oak Dr. Couple arguing because they caught each other cheating w/ multiple other people. Family was on location as well. Mediated the situation, advised of divorce process, Male gathered some belongings and will stay the night w/ family. Incident documented.
  • Suspicious person, Hubbard St. Eric Owenby found in ditch passed out and intoxicated. Tried to find a place for Owenby to go and was being uncooperative. Owenby arrested for Public Intoxication.
  • Suspicious person outside of Domino’s Pizza in regards to W/M wearing orange shirt upset over a pizza. Contact made w/ Nicholas Fuller in front of Anytime Fitness who had a warrant out of MPD for Failure to Appear. Fuller also had marijuana, methamphetamines, and baggies, and paraphernalia in his back pack. Fuller arrested and fingerprinted then taken to Walton County Jail. Warrants to be taken by officer for Poss. Less than 1 oz., Poss. of Schedule II, and Intent to Distribute. All items secured into evidence
  • Domestic, Hill St. Mitchell Vinson struck wife Emma Vinson leaving visible injury on face. Mitchell was arrested for Family Violence-Battery and Family Violence-Simple Assault. Warrants to be taken.
  • Fraud, Walmart. Contact made complainant who stated she resides in Fulton County but unknown suspect used her card info to purchase items at Walmart in Monroe. Complainant advised to contact Fulton County Police to file report and follow up would be conducted here.
  • Burglary at Bridgeport Ln.  Suspect not on location.  Met with home owner who gave a description of the suspect.  An area check was conducted with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, East Tall Oaks Dr.  Female is mentally ill and walked into the residence across the street from her that belongs to complainant.  Complainant is not wanting to press charges and female requested to be transported to Clearview Regional for an evaluation.  All ok.
  • Dispute, E Church Street.  Subjects arguing over property removal.  Situation was mediated.
  • Dispute, East Church St / Baker Street.  Subjects disputing over removing property from complainant’s yard.  Situation was mediated and both parties went their separate ways.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, South Broad Street / East Vine Street in reference to a vehicle unable to maintain lane.  Austen Howard arrested for Fleeing & Attempting to Elude, Suspended License, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Littering, and Tag Used to Conceal Identity of Vehicle, Failure to Maintain Lane, Expired Tag and Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer.
  • Dispute, Lakeview Drive.  Complainant wanting people out of her house.  She stated they were gone and she would contact the police again if they should return.  All ok.
  • Dispute, Mears Street.  A male and a female seen disputing in a white Ford F250 in the parking lot of Grace Baptist.  Both parties and the vehicle was gone.
  • Traffic Violation, Hampton Drive.  Complainant reporting two white males on dirt bikes in the neighborhood.  Went to Breedlove Drive and spoke to the home owner. Homeowner stated the subjects on the bikes were his family and he stated he would tell them to stay off the roadway.
  • Illegal Narcotics, Lakeview Drive.  Complainant reported finding needles and a spoon in her residence.  They were entered into GCIC as evidence to be destroyed.
  • Dispute, Towler Street in reference to a black male wearing black shorts and a black tank top and shoulder length dreads in a physical altercation with a black female.  Met with witnesses who stated they heard screams coming from outside their homes.  Upon looking outside, they witnessed the male pushing and pulling the female into the wood line near Felker Park.  All units conducted an area check of the surrounding area and negative contact was made.
  • Dispute, Hillcrest Drive.  Female disputing with roommate but she would not say what it was about.  Situation mediated. All ok.
  • Welfare check, Glen Iris Dr. in regards to family in California could not reach male family member. Contact was made and all was ok. He advised his cell phone was broken.
  • Dispute, Maple way between subjects over sharing a cigarette. Female walked off from residence leaving her five children outside the residence. Male took the youngest child that’s his w/ the female and walked to Birch St. DFACS contacted due to neither have no jobs or place to stay and can’t provide for the children at this time.
  • Follow up, Maple Way in regards to previous call. Homeowner advised she does not want the family living at residence anymore.
  • Dispute, Davis St. Officers arrived on scene and were only advised a dispute took place over money. Nobody on scene would provide any details, all people on location appeared ok and did not want help from the police.
  • Damage to property on Hwy 78 near Unisia Dr. Complainant arrived @ MPD to file report. He stated he was traveling on Hwy 78 near Unisia Dr. and a tractor trailer changed lanes and struck his vehicle and continued driving. No injuries, report taken
  • Follow up, 5th St. in regards to making contact w/ subject about driving over other people’s yard. Subject was advised of the complaints and what could happen as far as damage to property. Subject advised it will not happen again.
  • Unknown, Matthews Park in regards to caller stating a W/M was unconscious and unresponsive in backside of park and possibly DOA. All units arrived on scene and entire park was searched w/ negative contact. Contact was made with one female and two males.. After investigation, it was discovered that the female was panicking because of her dog and male subject was on drugs and unable to help get their dog on a leash. All parties were cited for Trespassing in park due to being on location after dark. All parties were then sent on their way.
  • Damage to property, Mileage Ave. Complainant returned home from vacation and noticed her vehicle had been scratched and dented but no entry was made. Report taken
  • Damage to property, E. Marable St. and Sweetgum Dr. in regards to vehicle swerving to keep from hitting a female who was walking in road.
  • Suspicious person, Felker St. Complainant stated residence is unoccupied and people have been going in and out. Checked area with negative contact.
  • Theft, Masters Dr. Complainant stated his son took $480.00 from his work truck and he did not want to have his son arrested. Son already had an active warrant. Father was advised of TPO process.
  • Dispute, Amber Trail in regards to B/M and B/F arguing in roadway. Arrived and negative contact. Spoke to witnesses in area who stated they have not seen a dispute.
  • Dispute, Clearview in regards to patient being unruly because he was ready to be transferred back to Ridgeview. Staff advised ambulance was about hour away. Subject was transported to Ridgeview.
  • Custody dispute, Magnolia Terr. Complainant went to residence to pick up his 6 year old son and mother stated father does not have permission to show up without notice to get his son. Son was returned and parties advised of civil remedies.
  • Dispute, Baker St. Couple had verbal dispute over husband not paying enough attention to wife. Parties separated for the night, all ok.
  • Burglary, Walker Dr. Complainant stated he arrived home and as he was walking towards his home, an unknown suspect walked up behind him, placed something against his back and demanded money. The unknown suspect then reached into complainant’s pocket and stole $400.00 and then complainant stated he ran inside to call the police. No description of any kind could be given on suspect or weapon or direction of travel. Report taken
  • Illegal Dumping, Bryant Road.  Contact was made with complainant who advised person(s) unknown dumped two tires by the ticket booths.  Complainant also requested extra patrols for the football field area while it is closed.  No report requested.
  • Welfare Check, Spruce Ln.  Made contact with the home owner, who stated she was just fine.  All ok.
  • Dispute, GW Carver Dr.  Male and female disputing over clothes and personal items belonging to male.  Male stated female will not give him his things and has possibly sold them over the weekend after he moved out.  Female was not on property. The couple are not married but have lived together for 2 or 3 months.  Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, North Broad St / Hwy 78 in reference to an elderly female driver.  Conducted an area check of the location and was met with negative results.
  • Follow Up at 116 South Broad Street.  In reference to a male wanting to file a complaint along with asking questions about a condition of bond on him not being able to possess any animals.  All ok.
  • Damage To Property, South Broad Street.  In reference to an unknown subject throwing paint on the South MHP sign.  Report taken.
  • Theft, Liberty First.  Complainant notified police of a bad check deposited by a male subject. Complainant advised they were going to handle civilly.  Report taken
