The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between April 14 – 20, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Welfare check, Carwood Dr. in regards to school bus and driver in front of residence for extended time. Area checked with negative contact.
- Suspicious vehicle, Quality Foods in regards to red sedan that was unable to maintain lane on W. Spring St., stopped vehicle due to brake lights and damage. Driver was ok, vehicle involved in accident P/P previous date.
- Suspicious vehicle on S. Broad St. headed NB in regards to white sedan swerving/speeding. Area checked with negative contact.
- Found property, S. Broad St. in regards to 38-D (drugs) paraphernalia, 2 empty syringes and a spoon found in flower pot. Disposed of items, no 38-D present.
- Theft, Forrest Ln. in regards to complainant stating that her sister was living w/ her and moved out and while moving items, took her son’s medication. Report taken
- Dispute, Fawnfield Dr. between residents on same street due to them not knowing each other. All ok, one resident thought other was in neighborhood looking for houses to break into. Both males possibly has medical issues.
- Suspicious vehicle on Hwy 138 towards city. Southern refrigeration truck on trailer speeding. Area checked with negative contact.
- Fight, Storehouse Crt., Officers arrived within 30 seconds, negative on fight in progress but group was leaving upon arrival. Anonymous caller requested extra patrol due to juveniles from W. Creek Circle coming to Walton Mill causing problems.
- Officer’s called to Birch St., in regards to complainant having questions about income tax money and vehicle that parents are keeping from her. Issue is civil at this time.
- EMS assist, Overlook Trail in regards to infant who was struck in head by item that fell off of kitchen counter. All ok.
- Suspicious vehicle/Person on Holly Hill near Pinecrest Dr. in regards to man in woods crouched down and black BMW in roadway. Man identified as Maulana Bodison and arrested for theft by receiving stolen property due to having BMW keys on person and BMW was stolen out of Gwinnett County. BMW towed by towing company.
- Missing juvenile report taken at MPD. Juvenile is 17 and has been running away from home to smoke weed. Mother brought her to MPD to see what options are available. All options explained to mother and juvenile complaint done.
- Identify Theft, West Vine St., in reference to a named subject possibly using complainant’s GA ID to get Sudafed from Wal-Mart.
- Erratic Driver on Hwy 11 through the city in reference to a silver Tacoma failing to maintain its lane. Contact made with driver who’s driving from Albany to Winder to see his granddaughter for her birthday. Driver checked ok just tired from a long drive.
- Juvenile Complaint, Plaza Trace (Highland Village) complainant complained of juvenile kids from King St. Climbing her fence. She is concerned they will fall and hurt themselves. Advised complainant to call us if they returned but that the officer would check King Street in an attempt to locate the juveniles.
- Fight on Wheel House Lane. Complainant had an unknown female wanted to fight her could not give a name or reason to why she would want to fight.
- Stalking at West Spring Street (Wal-Mart) complainant stated that an unknown male approached her and made sexual comments and acts toward her. When she left she felt like he followed her out of the parking lot. She stopped at the Police department to file a report.
- Domestic, South Broad St., (Southside MHP) in reference to couple having a verbal argument.
- Juvenile Complaint, Collie St., complainant jumped out of the vehicle and refused to go home. Driver tried to get her in to the vehicle but she ran off. Juvenile intake said they would not take her. Also said they will not consider her a runaway until she has been gone 24 hours.
- Dispute, Cook St., Reference to a possible domestic and hearing gun shots. Units arrived on scene and spoke to multiple people on scene who advised they were at their cousin house. All parties on location advised to leave if they did not stay there.
- Loud Party, Birch St., reference a large party. Subjects starting to disperse upon police arrival. Party was shut down. One subject was issued a citation for improper parking.
- Domestic / discharging firearms, Glen Iris Drive. Reference two females fighting over property. One female stated while talking to the other female a named male subject banished a handgun and fired one round. Unable to determine who fired a gun, no evidence. The one female was able to gather her belongings and left the scene.
- Suspicious Person, Broad Street (Deer Acres Inn) male and female sleeping in parking lot. Advised to leave and not to return. Has already been warned prior.
- Assist Citizen, South Hammond Drive, citizen requested help breaking into his house. Upon arrival citizen had gained access to his house.
- Suspicious person, Dairy Queen on E. Spring St. in regards to W/M in wheelchair. Subject was going to get something to eat, all ok.
- Suspicious person, Old Mill Pointe in regards person on front porch of caller. Could not advise male, female, black, or white. Area checked with negative contact on any suspicious person.
- Dispute, Clearview in regards to medical patient trying to leave. Contact made w/ male subject and all ok. Staff restrained male subject prior to arrival.
- Found property, S. Madison Ave. (Monroe Fire Station) in regards to found credit card. Took to Athens First and bank shredded due to old account.
- Rolling dispute, stopped vehicle at St. Alban’s Church. All ok, verbal over money.
- Juvenile complaint, Carver Place in regards to 16 YOA female putting Clorox in another juvenile’s (mother’s) vehicle. Complainant did not want to get report at this time and would notify juvenile probation officer. All ok.
- Suspicious person, Carver Place in regards to older W/M walking w/ kids and stumbling and falling and caller concerned for wellbeing. Contact made w/ male subject who as having a diabetic episode. EMS arrived on scene and escorted to Clearview
