Monroe PD Reports: Gunshot reports and subject damages police car during arrest

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between April 28 – May 4, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an  arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Gunshots in the area of Lacy Street.  Negative contact with any gunshots, this occurred while a Sgt. was out on Magnolia Street and did not hear any gun shots in the area.  Area was checked and could not locate any shell casing and no one in the area heard any gun shots.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at Unisia Drive heading into the city.  Stopped the vehicle at Tractor Supply reason for the stop was failure to maintain lane.  Advised he needs to be more careful driving.
  • Gunshots in the area of GW Carver drive.  Unknown female called stating someone shot at her and traced the call to that area.  Unable to locate anyone in distress and no one in the area heard any gunshots.
  • Suspicious Person, Sporty Lane in reference to a two people knocking on the caller’s window and door.  They got into a passenger car and left the area prior to police arrival.  Everything is ok at the residence at this time.
  • Suspicious Activity, reference to the homeowner hearing items striking the side of his residence area was checked negative contact with anyone.
  • Suspicious Activity, Springer Lane in reference to a gold passenger car in the area. Vehicle was gone prior to police arrival.
  • Harassment, S. Broad St., complainant, advised her neighbor stares at her and makes her nervous.
  • Identity Theft report taken at Monroe PD lobby, complainant advised someone had used his information when issued citations from the City of Monroe on 3/9/17.
  • Officer’s called to Monroe PD. lobby, complainant request extra patrol on N. Midland.
  • Wanted person, S. Madison Ave.  Alexander West arrested,
  • Harassing Phone calls discussed with complainant at Monroe PD.  Advised of remedies.
  •  Medical subject, Sweetgum Dr., male subject moved back in against conditions of bond and has been terrorizing female subject.  Warrant to be taken for Criminal Trespass. Male subject damaging a phone in the residence.
  • Civil issue, Lacy St., requested a report in reference to the father of her child taking a Disability check.
  • 911-hang up call, Sweetgum Dr. Male subject from above call on location damaging more property.  More warrants to be taken.  Subject was located next door in the garage.  Mr. Williams had a knife and was put on the ground and taken into custody.  Mr. Williams then began to fight with officers.  He was again put on the ground till other officer arrived with leg chains.  While en route to the jail he began to bang his head on the cage and then once at the jail he ripped radar antenna off the mount and bent the bracket.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Spruce Ln.  Juveniles trespassing.  Situation mediated.
  • Dispute, Bryant and Stower’s St.  Subjects disputing over property.  Stood by until property was gathered.
  • Harassment, Baron Dr.  Someone had left cigarette butts in her mail box.  Requested extra patrol.  All ok.
  • Dispute, Baker St.  Subjects who had been evicted were concerned that the landlord was running up their bill.  Utilities arrived and shut everything off.  All ok.
  • Road Rage, Hwy 138 at W. Spring Street; gray Volkswagen flashed a gun in road rage incident, tag provided was not valid, area checked with negative contact.
  • Fraud Report taken at MPD lobby, complainant reported that someone used his credit card in Vegas for 215.00, report taken.
  • Domestic problem, Wheel House Lane; Complainant advised that the neighbor kids specifically named kid trying to fight granddaughter, report taken.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Pine Park St., Complainant advised that kids in the area (10 yrs) were wanting to start a fight with her son, juveniles were gone when officers arrived.
  • Suspicious Person, Thompson Ridge Dr; Comp advised a black male was on her porch, getting used cigarettes out of ashtray. Subject located on Thompson Ridge Ct, male subject has medical issues and turned over to his grandmother who lives there, advised not to return or go door to door anywhere else.
  • Prowler report, Belle Meade; resident advised seeing some lights in the back woods near Ammons Bridge, residence and wood-line checked, negative contact.
  • Welfare Check, E. Fambrough S., resident was given some information on getting assisted living.
  • Domestic problem, Booth Dr., male and female subjects in a verbal argument, male was intoxicated, situation mediated.
  • Harassing Phone Calls, Davis Street; Comp advised that named subject put social security number on Facebook, Report made.
  • Theft Report, Meadow Ct; male subject advised subject came into his house (had code) and took 300 dollars, a pillow, and some water while he was locked up for domestic violence with her.  Report made.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Hammond Park; male subject parked in the park, checked out, sent on his way.
  • Firearms Discharged, S. Broad Street;  comp advised hearing two shots, road crew installing traffic report devices in area, all ok.
  • Suspicious Person @ Greenwood Drive and Woodland;   white male wearing shorts walking down the road, negative contact after area check.
  • Unknown @ Pine Park St and Davis Street; subject advised people were after him and he was locked in the bathroom, male subject was possibly on 38-D drugs, being paranoid.  Advised to go home.
  • Dispute, S. Broad St., male subject wanting to retrieve property.  Negative contact with anyone at residence.
  • Counterfeit, N. Broad St., used a $10 bill that he received from named male subject to pay his bill.  Money collected for evidence.
  • Child abuse report taken at Monroe PD., mother advised a boy named touched her special needs daughter.  CID notified.
  • Domestic problem, Hubbard St.  Father and son had an argument over rent.  Parties separated.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Tanglewood Ln., mother advised she did not want her 16 year old daughter staying at the residence anymore.  She was advised she could not kick the child out.  Juvenile was taken to a friend’s residence for the day.
  • Harassing phone calls, E. Marable St, complainant advised she was receiving crude texts due to her trying to get a divorce.
  • Dispute, N. Broad St., complainant requested a report that the residence had been abandoned.  While on location male subject wanted a report due to items missing that had been stored on location.
  • Dispute at IHOP.  Reference to a subject walking out on bill.  Left in a red Jeep Liberty.
  • Fire assist, Cook Place.  Possible structure fire.
  • Subject Alford Williams at Fire was  arrested for disorderly conduct by officer
  • Unknown problem @ George Walton Homes.  Subjects fighting in the area.  Gun said to have been shown.  Subjects dispersed upon arrival.
  • Fight in the area of George Walton Homes.  Females disputing over an incident that occurred at Monroe Area High School.
  • Theft Report, W. Spring St; complainant advised that he left a bag in a friend’s vehicle, wanted help locating who this person was to get his bag, declined report.
  • Harassment, E. Marable Street; Comp advised he was having issues with another disk golf subject.  Situation mediated.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Carver Place, grandmother stated her granddaughter was in a fight with named. Juvenile, with other 5-8 year olds making threats.  Report taken per request.
  • Shoplifting @ Dollar General S. Broad Street; black male entered and stole soap, was GOA towards Social Circle.  Report taken.
  • Domestic problem, Tanglewood Drive, two subjects in a verbal argument.  Situation mediated.
