Monroe PD responded to the following calls between Dec. 23 – 29, 2016. This report is split into five parts due to the length. This is the final post for this period. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Stopped vehicle on Highway 138 and West Spring St., driver cited for no insurance, vehicle towed by towing company.
- Harassing phone calls, Lopez Ln. negative on harassing phone calls, mother only wanted officer to stand by while she got kids up.
- Request area check on Lacy St. ref to comp advising she can hear someone in her back yard. Area checked with negative contact
- During area check on Piedmont Parkway located vehicle in cul-de-sac. Driver cited for violation of class D restrictions and open container, male subject cited for underage consumption of alcohol .o52. Parents called to retrieve vehicle and juveniles.
- Traffic Stop on East Church Street at Colquitt Street. Cachena Careese Warren arrested for driving while license suspended and no valid insurance coverage. Vehicles towed by towing company.
- Damage to Property, Spruce Lane, and complainant advised her vehicle was struck in the cul-de-sac sometime during the night, while parked.
- Theft, South Broad Street – Monroe Police Department. Subject requested to file an incident report of theft of medication, which took place in Winder. Referred to the Winder Police Department.
- Dispute on South Broad Street. Dispute between neighbors over trash being thrown in yard. Complainant also requested damage to window reported.
- Dispute on Wheelhouse Lane, son in dispute with his mother because he don’t have a job. Situation mediated, subject left walking, and asked not to return by his mother and step-father.
- Entering Auto on North Broad Street – Breedy Auto Brokers, complainant stated his 2005 Honda Accord was repossessed in Loganville this date and towed to this location, but the vehicle is now missing the catalytic converter and radio. Subject advised to contact wrecker company and Loganville Police. Incident report documented upon complainants request.
- Suspicious Person, Tanglewood Drive in reference a white male lying under a tree. Contact made with male subject who had gotten into a dispute and was walking to his vehicle. An escort was given to Walton EMC
- Suspicious Person in the area of Plaza Drive. Caller advised male subject lying in ditch. Contact made with male subject who was taking a nap and left walking upon Fire and EMS arrival.
- Harassment, 4th Street. Complainant advised her husband is harassing her, attempting to get the kids. Not a criminal matter, but she requested incident report for divorce dispute.
- Traffic Stop on East Spring Street at Popeye’s Chicken. Stephen McKinney arrested for active warrant out of Walton County,
- Theft report, Edwards St., complainant advised of two Christmas lights taken between 1600-1900, no suspects.
- Suspicious person in area of East Washington St. Ref to male subject wearing a ski mask and carrying a drum. Area checked with negative contact
- Juvenile complaint, Plaza Dr. Ref to girl being in son’s room.
- Dispute, Colley St., complainant wanted neighbor to know they could not use his power anymore even though they have been using it all day
- Discharge of firearms in the area of East Marable St. and Maple Ln. negative on firearms, unable to locate source of fireworks in the area.
- Suspicious vehicle, West Spring St., Wal-Mart. Red ford ranger with no bed speeding in the parking lot. Vehicle was stopped at West Spring and Carwood, driver checked ok.
- Suspicious person, South Broad St., Southside Mobile Home. Subjects got into a vehicle and were gone when police arrived – area checked with negative contact.
- Suspicious vehicle, South Broad St. towards city. Chrysler Van going aprox 20mph and FTML. Stopped at Atha and South Madison. Driver cited for no insurance, suspended and expired registration. Vehicle impounded by towing company.
- Suspicious vehicle stopped on Highway 138 and West Spring St. Driver cited for no insurance and suspended 28. Vehicle towed by towing company.
- Traffic Stop on South Madison Avenue near Atha Street. Vehicle impounded by towing service due to lack of insurance coverage.
- Harassment complaint taken at South Broad Street – Monroe Police Department. Complainant was threatened by her 19-year-old adult child because she and her boyfriend kicked him out the house for not working or paying bills.
- Theft, South Broad Street – Monroe Police Department. Complainant advised a named male subject took her Taurus handgun without permission. They are going through a separation and complainant didn’t want to pursue any criminal charges.
- Entering Auto, Plaza Trace in reference to two vehicles being entered, but only one victim wished to file a report. Complainant advised someone took a $100 Nike Jacket.
- Terroristic Threat on Colley Street. Subject arrested for calling Monroe City Hall, threatening to kill everyone.
- Damage to Property on Highway 138. Complainant vehicle was damaged by a tree limb from the high winds in the area.
- Suspicious Person at Checkers. Manager advised a black female on location causing a dispute because she couldn’t hear her on the intercom because of a delivery truck parked near the drive-thru speaker box. Situation mediated.
- Dispute, Forrest Street. Dispute between neighbors. Situation mediated and advised of the restraining order process.
- Threats, 4th Street. Complainant advised her husband is en route to get their children and she’s afraid of him because he now knows her location. The husband is en route from Illinois. Supplement to original.
- Traffic Stop on South Madison Avenue at Harvest Baptist Church. Adriana Russell arrested for suspended license and no valid insurance coverage.
- Shoplifting at 2050 West Spring Street – Walmart. Juveniles Alexis Spencer and Kenyah Edwards arrested for shoplifting
- Domestic, Sporty Lane. Caller advised they could hear a female screaming and banging on the walls. The caller was anonymous and there was no one on location.
- Suicide Attempt, Hillside Drive. Subject attempted to harm herself by stabbing herself in the back with a hunting knife. Depressed and had been drinking because of anniversary of her father’s death.
- Suspicious Vehicle in the area of Great Oaks. Caller advised a silver Ford Escape in the area driving around. Area checked with negative contact.
- Mental Patient at Clearview Regional Medical Center. E.R. staff advised a mental patient was being combative. Patient was placed in restraints and medicated.
- Welfare Check on Ash Street. Anonymous caller requested a check on his mother and daughter who were disputing. All ok.
- Theft Report @ AT&T on MLK Blvd; male subject was seen on camera stealing Galaxy S6 cellphone, made contact with him and he returned the phone, store manager refused to press charges, trespass warning issued.
- Suspicious Person on Kelton Rd; Comp advised someone was knocking on their door, subjects in the area looking for their missing K-9, all 10ok.
- Damage to Property @ Amicis on N. Broad Street; Vehicle was struck and left the scene, report made.
- Dispute @ Jays Food Mart; clerk wanted subjects that were in the store barred, but incident occurred at 1300 the previous date and their names were unknown, advised to call back if they return.
- Dispute, Magnolia Terrace; Comp advised that group of females were wanting to fight with her, subjects were gone when officers arrived
- Warrant/Pickup @ Newton County Line; Aron Herrick picked up on city warrants.
- Fight call, Walmart; female subject and family in dispute with employees of Walmart, situation mediated, female subject advised to leave and file complaint with manager next date.
- Domestic problem, Claywill Circle; Comp advised that she is going through divorce and noticed jewelry missing, advised it was a civil matter until lawfully divorced.
