Monroe PD Reports: Overdose concerns regarding castor oil, bath salts

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between June 30 – July 6, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Vehicle at North Broad Street / Bold Springs in reference to silver Saturn passenger car speeding. Area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Civil Dispute at Forest Lane. Complainant had questions regarding meeting her sister’s boyfriend with property. All ok.
  • Pullover/Arrest at East Fambrough / South Broad Street. Tanner Robertson stopped for seat belt violation. Mr. Robertson was found to be in possession of marijuana less than one ounce. He was written a citation and released.
  • Animal Complaint, West Spring Street in reference to a dog left in an unattended vehicle.  I conducted an area check for the white Ford Taurus on row 11-12 and could not locate it.  Complainant was not present.
  • Dispute at Tanglewood Dr. Subjects disputing because one didn’t call the other back right away. One was gone when officers arrived. No visible signs of injury were present.
  • Welfare Check at East Tall Oaks Drive in reference to female feeling weak. Female was turned over to EMS and treated.
  • Dispute at East Marable Street. Subjects were verbally disputing. Parties were separated and situation mediated.
  • Suspicious Person at Hibbet Sports. Due to an urban camper site located in the wood line behind the business. Officers located the site but nobody was present. Officers will return at a later time and try to identify the unknown person.
  • Dispute, West Spring Street involving a man that had struck a female in the front parking lot area. Contact was made with Robert Higginbotham and a female and after a short investigation; Mr. Higginbotham was arrested for battery.
  • Shoplifting at South Broad Street – Dollar General.  Manager stated an unknown black male entered the store with no bags and left with a cloth bag full of items. Subjects possible took two containers of powered laundry detergent. Manager will be able to pull security footage Monday morning.
  • Found Property, South Broad Street – CVS in reference to a water soaked tag receipt. Contacted the owner and said they do not own the car anymore.
  • Noise Complaint at Hickory Drive. Caller stated that she heard loud booms coming from outside. Checked the area with negative contact.
  • Animal Complaint. Complainant Advised a dog was in his neighbor’s backyard.  Contract made with animal who appeared malnourished and elderly.  Contact made with the owner and the dog was returned.
  • Suspicious Person on Hwy 11 / South Madison Ave. Caller stated a white male was walking down the road and appeared intoxicated. Conducted area check with negative contact.
  • Fireworks at Green Street.  Complainant calling about people shooting fireworks being shot off. Located the fireworks and advised them of the law.
  • Fireworks Parkway Place. Subject had questions on the fireworks law
  • Fireworks in the area of Radford Street. Checked the area could not locate any fireworks being shot off.
  • Discharging Firearms in the area of Carver Place.  3rd party called in advised they could hear gun shots. No shell casing found and the complainant did not want to meet with officers.
  • Dispute, South Broad Street– Southside MHP. In reference to subjects in a verbal argument over vehicle. Situation mediated and report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at North Madison and East Marable. Called in by a Walton County SO heading to another call. Stated two black males sitting in a vehicle appeared to be watching a residence. Upon Monroe PD arrival vehicle gone.
  • Sexual Assault King Street. Complainant advised a friend from College came over tonight and grabbed her in the vaginal area over her cloths. Report taken
  • Suspicious Person at East Church Street.  Complainant stated a black male he possibly knows as “Johnathan” came to his residence and knocked on his front door and window requesting to speak to him and then his wife.  Complainant was intoxicated and provided little information about the nature of the subjects visit.  He did state the subject has been to his house in the past. Negative contact with “Johnathan”
  • Dispute Glen Iris Dr. Former roommate tore up flowers with vehicle as they left, report declined.
  • Threats, South Madison Ave. Reference to threats being made to store clerk. Male served with criminal trespass notice.
  • Dispute North Broad St. Radio advised three different addresses, true address was 4th St. Complainant advised he was not paid by the a family for lawn service. Both parties advised of civil process.
  • Traffic stop Radford St. and East 5th St. Cindy Williams arrested for driving on a suspended license and released on copy.
  • Welfare check Oak Ridge. Father has not spoken to his son all day. Vacant residence, all ok.
  • Welfare check Glen Iris Dr. Different address for above call. Residence was not secure, building cleared, nobody was home.
  • Juvenile complaint, South Broad St., Southside MHP. Father arguing with daughter. Situation mediated.
  • Dispute, Maple St. Subjects arguing over bread. All ok.
  • Theft, E. Spring St. Items stolen from storage unit but unable to get inside at this time for full inventory. Report taken
  • Assault, Reed St. in regards to patient physically assaulting a staff member. After investigating, staff member did not want to press charges. Patient was transported by EMS to Clearview for an injury she received.
  • Juvenile complaint, Plaza Dr. Contact made w/ complainant who is blind and he stated some neighborhood kids have been coming to his door and knocking, then running away. Neighbors who also witnessed the kids stated they ran towards other end of complex. Checked area with negative contact.
  • Animal complaint, W. Vine St. (Conestoga) in regards to brown/white pit bull running loose in neighborhood and has killed a cat. Checked area with negative contact.
  • EMS assist, E. Washington St. in regards to Complainant wanted her mother to go to hospital or go home. Mother was being difficult but is getting a ride home. All ok.
  • Juvenile complaint, MPD parking lot. Mother said her son (15 YOA male) was having sex w/ a 14 YOA girl. Son also hit her while she was trying to discipline him. Juvenile complaint was done.
  • Gunshots heard at Duke St. and E. 5th St. Area checked and all was ok. It appeared to be fireworks.
  • Disturbance, W. Fambrough St. (Central MHP) Complainant stated residents were having issues with two male subjects. Spoke with subjects and stated it was a misunderstanding from when their drunk cousin was “cat calling” women in the park. All parties explained on options, all ok.
  • Dispute, Lacy St. Complainant stated that a group of people came from Pine Park apartments and knocked on her door stating they were going to “jump” her granddaughters over a boy but names were unaware. Options explained all ok.
  • Dispute, Davis St. in regards to complainant stating male on location intoxicated and w/ drugs and she wanted him out of house. Both parties explained their options and neither party wanted to leave. No signs of physical violence and complainant stated she is moving out tomorrow.
  • Civil, Southside Mobile Home Park complainant wanted escort to retrieve property due to breaking up w/ boyfriend. All ok.
  • Fireworks, Plantation Dr. Checked area and made contact at Springdale. All was ok, people shooting fireworks responsibly.
  • Walton County Sheroff’s Office assist, John’s Supermarket in regards to subject arrested for DUI by WCSO and attempted to choke himself and beat his head against the ground. Officers assisted w/ control and Use of Force done.
  • Suspicious vehicle on Landers St. in regards to black sedan pulling into multiple driveways. Checked area with negative contact.
  • EMS assist, Hammond Park in regards to male advised he ate bath salts and was transported to Clearview by EMS.
  • Fight on Perry St. near Launius Ave. Arrived on scene to large crowd but no active fight. Witnesses stated dispute took place but no fight. Crowd was dispersed and people/vehicles sent on their way.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Elite Recycling on Cherry Hill in regards to silver Lexus on location. All ok, female waiting on husband to drop off a load.
  • Sexual assault, W. Marable St. in regards to complainant’s 4 YOA daughter being sexually assaulted by a grown man earlier on July 3, 2017. Mother and child transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for testing. On-call CID was notified of incident and investigation on-going at this time. There is a suspect to the incident, read report for further details.
  • Dispute, Pine Park St. in reference to female and Lashae Morton. Morton arrested for family violence battery for biting female during a domestic dispute.
  • Dispute, N Madison Ave Subjects disputing over past incidents. Both admitted to striking the other and neither wanted to prosecute. One subject advised not to return to this residence today.
  • EMS assist. Patient was upset because she “over dosed” on Castor oil. TOT EMS.
