Monroe PD Reports: Police help retrieve keys locked in car containing marijuana

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between July 6 – 13, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Juvenile Problem, Ashe Ln.  Eleven-year-old juvenile said another 15-year-old took $4 from him and would not give it back.  Fifteen-year-old gone when police arrived.  No report requested.
  • Welfare Check, Barrett Street.  Anonymous caller was concerned about a tent in the backyard and possible squatters.  Homeowner advised it was his 14-year-old’s tent.  All ok.
  • 911 Hang Up, North Lumpkin St.  Second call of this nature at this location, all was ok and they were advised to contact their landline provider for more information.
  • Fight, West Marable Street. Chris Yarborough and his mother reported fighting in their front yard.  Mr. Yarborough arrested for disorderly conduct.
  • Domestic at Hwy 78 and West Spring Street.  Reference to a male and female outside of a red jeep arguing.  Negative contact upon arrival.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at South Broad Street / 5th Street.  Made contact with the complainant at Deer Acres Inn.  She stated that a plain white tractor trailer almost hit her from behind while crossing over the railroad tracks on South Broad at South Madison. Officer followed truck on North Broad Street and did not observe any violations.
  • Animal Complaint at Forest Street in reference to hearing an animal in the wall of the residence.  Homeowner advised for the past week he has heard some kind of animal scratching and biting wires in the his attic and walls.  He was advised to contact an exterminator.
  • Domestic at Booth Drive.  Female on location extremely intoxicated and yelling at her husband.  Female went to her sister’s house for the night.
  • Dispute at Green Street. Subject disputing with juveniles over basketball goal in yard.
  • Domestic at Mountain View Drive.  Mike Townsdrow arrested after threatening his aunt with a broom stick.
  • Suspicious Activity, Birch Street.  Complainant wanted to let police know about someone knocking on her door loudly.
  • Suspicious Activity, North Broad Street – Golden Pantry.  Caller advised a Dodge Ram was at Golden Pantry with weed.  They advised the driver would have a blue Kentucky shirt on.  Upon arrival.  Officers observed Mr. Stanley Williams throw a pill bottle with weed in it at a car parked behind him at the gas pump.  Williams matched the description given.  He was arrested for possession less than one ounce.
  • Meet with citizen on South Madison Avenue – Fish Thrift Store.  While observing traffic Officer was approached by two employees who work for C&L motors.  They wanted to advise that they just repossessed a 2001 Nissan Quest.  Wanted officers to be informed just in case someone reports it stolen.  It was given up by the owner.  Advised to contact dispatch.
  • Keys locked in vehicle, West Spring Street – WalMart.  Black impala opened no damage.  Upon opening it marijuana located in the door.  Driver cited for Possession of less than one oz.`
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring Street – Nowell Rec Center.  Honda Accord behind the basketball gym.  Vehicle was unsecured and the glove box was opened.  Attempted to make contact with the owner and could not.
  • Suspicious Activity, Lakeview Drive.  Caller stated a black male wearing all black got out of a pickup truck and walked near their residence.  When confronted the subject fled on foot towards Kelton Road.  Negative contact.
  • Wanted person at Hall County.  Scottie Davis picked up in Hall County and transported to Walton County Jail.
  • Suspicious Person, East Church Street.  Complainant advised a black male came to his house and started knocking on his window.  He tried to confront the male and he ran off down Ash Street.  He knew the male as name given.  Another witness stated the male had been in her backyard prior to going to her neighbor’s residence. She stated he was wearing a black shirt with long gray shorts and had a short afro.  Complainant stated this was not the first time the male has come into his yard.
  • Agency Assist at Mountain Creek Church Road / State Route 11.  Burglary suspect wrecked out after being chased by the county.   Assisted in searching the area for the suspects. Negative contact.
  • Agency Assist at Hwy 11 / Bold Springs Rd.  In reference to two burglary suspects who fled on foot after a vehicle chase with WCSO.  Negative contact was made.
  • Civil Dispute report taken at South Broad Street.  Complainant stated her daughter is in the Walton County Jail.  She turned over items to her boyfriend.  Complainant said boyfriend was supposed to bring the items to her house yesterday, but did not.  Explained of the civil process.  Report requested.
  • Dispute, Chestnut Lane / Claywill Circle.  Complainant stated “He” had her keys and he was running through the neighborhood.  No other information was provided.  Officer conducted an area check of both streets and was met with negative results.
  • Harassing Phone Calls, Brookwood Lane.  Complainant stating her ex-fiancé is calling nonstop.  Complainant stated she didn’t want to press charges on him but wanted him to stop calling her.  She was advised of the TPO process.
  • Vehicle Impound, North Broad St.  Female was issued a citation and vehicle impounded for no insurance on her Ford Focus.  Jays Wrecker impounded the vehicle.
  • Stranded Motorist, West Spring Street.  Citizen stranded without a vehicle and was given a ride to WalMart from Monroe Area High School.
  • Animal Complaint, Nowell Street in reference to a snake on the complainant’s roof.  The land lord was present and stated his crew would remove the snake.  All ok.
  • Fraud, South Broad Street.  Complainant reported his social security card and debit card were stolen from his apartment on 5-3-16 after he was arrested.  Possible suspect is named.  The debit card was used several times from 5-3-16 to 4-13-17 resulting in a $6,000 loss.
  • Fight, GW Carver Drive. In reference to several subjects actively fighting in the area.  An area check was conducted of GW Carver Drive and surrounding streets with negative contact made.  All ok.
  • Dispute, Pine Park Street.  Three subjects were threatened by a named subject during a domestic dispute.  Subject was not on location when we arrived.  Warrants to be taken for Terroristic Threats forthcoming.
  • Juvenile Issue, Kendall Court.  Complainant saw a 5-year-old girl walking out of the woods and down Kendall Ct.  Juvenile advised she walked from the Old Mill area and was going to the store to get candy.  Juvenile was escorted back to Wheelhouse Ln.  The mother did not know the child left the yard.  Mother was educated on the dangers of a small child being left unsupervised.  All ok.
  • Threats, CVS in reference to a female that was threatened.  Complainant advised her life was threatened by a phone scammer named Brad after she refused to wire him $200 to process a loan.  Report taken.
  • Child Custody, Classic Trail.  Complainant requested a report in reference to her baby’s father not returning their child home on time.
  • Harassing Phone Calls, South Broad Street.  Subject in an argument via telephone with his-mother-in law.  Mother-in-law made threats to have subject locked up.  No report requested.
  • Wanted Person, East Fambrough St.  Anonymous caller stated a black male wearing a red shirt and blue coveralls in the area with active warrants.  Complainant would not give any further information and disconnected.  An area check was conducted and was met with negative results.
  • Theft report taken at South Broad Street.  Complainant advised he heard a theft occurred at Hulsey concrete.  Complainant did not witness the theft but knows who the male is.  Advised complainant to have the gentleman who witnessed the theft to make the report.
  • Dispute, Bold Springs Avenue.  Female and Roxanne Hill disputing over Roxanne being on the property.  The situation is a civil matter but Roxanne had an active warrant and was arrested and transported to WCSO.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Washington Street.  Complainant wanted to let police know that some small kids were playing around his car.  They were gone on arrival.  He does not know where they live at.
  • Suspicious Person, Davis Street – Rivers of Mercy Church.  Caller stated a black male was hanging out near the church.  The area was checked negative contact with anyone near the church and church was secured.
  • Suspicious Activity, Carwood Drive.  Complainant stated two young males watching her walk up and down the street.  They were standing at the residence across the street.  Made contact and they stated they were outside playing.  Situation mediated.
  • Suspicious Person, Bridgeport Lane.  Reference to juveniles knocking on people’s doors and running.  Met with complainant who wanted to let officers know.  Negative contact with any juveniles outside.
  • Traffic Stop at James Huff Road / Hwy 78.  Vehicle stopped for no tag.  Melissa Gray arrested for driving while unlicensed.  Vehicle blue 1993 Toyota Camry, impounded for no insurance.
  • Dispute, South Broad Street.  In reference to neighbor’s disputing with over noise. Situation mediated.
  • Dispute, East Fambrough Street.  Subjects in a dispute due to one attempting to assault the other with a screwdriver and socked extension.  Subjects did not wish to pursue charges.  One was issued a criminal trespass warning to stay away from residence.
